i have an i7 4770k overclocked to 4.5ghz on 1.25 volts
after a run of OCCT the max temps are around 80c with a corsair h100i stock fans set at 1200rpm (any faster than that is to loud)

im not very happy with those temps, my case is a corsair 500r it has pretty good airflow but im abit of a silence freak and a little bit to much noise for my liking comes out of this case

im going to be swapping out to the NZXT h440 as soon as the black and red version is available on overclockers, done a little bit of research on the case and im thinking it might be a little bit restrictive airflow wise wich might push the temps up even higher on my CPU

can anyone reccomend a 240mm AIO that will outperform the h100i?
ill be buying a couple of coolermaster jetflow red LED 120mm fans to stick on it, ive heard they are brilliant for static pressure and pretty quiet if you use the 1200rpm limiter
they are also the only static pressure fans i have found with LED's

You can't really outperform the H100i at that size. The difference will be 1-2 degrees at best, and that can be achieved with different fans etc.

You'll need to delid your Haswell or replace the TIM/do a reseat to get any better temps.

My 4670k goes to under 65c at maximum load with 1.295v. By maximum load I mean 3dmark or gaming. I don't need to run prime95 or anything like that in everyday usage, so why should I care about the temps while using that?

the whole delid thing isnt really something i want to do, everyday usage for me includes things like rendering video with sony vegas wich does put my CPU under 100% load and gets it up to the same kind of temps thats OCCT does so it is pretty important

wouldnt something with a thicker rad or something like that help me out abit?

i will be reseating the cooler when it goes into the new case and i will be buying some thermal compound rather than using the included stuff, would buying some really high quality thermal stuff many difference to the temps? theres so many different choices on overclockers i dont know what to go with

How a about a H105, a user here - http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=126081 - says he got the fans in the top tray area and the rad underneath inside the main section.

im not keeping my case, im swapping out for the NZXT h440 as soon as the black and red version is available on overclockers

a quick look online says the h105 will fit in the h440, is it any good? i know it has a thicker rad than the h100i

Ocuk fathom cooler?

that looks pretty good, and i can have it with UV red coolant wich is nices, matches the build colour scheme :)

only problem is it doesnt tell me how thick the rad is i would probaly get it with the black ice rad but i have no idea if it will fit or not

You wont see any worthwhile drop in temps unless you invest in proper watercooling really. The Fathom is the easiest route really.

Other than that you can delid but of course this isn't to everyone's taste.

the fathom looks interesting, it comes with a choice of two rads but doesnt say how thick they are so i dont know if it will fit the case im getting

alright so after searching around online the EX240 rad wich comes with the fathom is 35.5m thick wich should fit in the h440

has anyone actualy got one of these coolers?
it looks good and sounds good the asking price is pretty steep, is it worth it and will it outperform an h100i or am i just paying for looks and features?

There is a thread on here somewhere with user reviews. 8pack also used one to cool an 8320 at 5ghz with very healthy temps.

i found the thread but theres no reviews
dont really want to drop that much cash on something when i have no idea how its going to perform

if i was to buy it right now it would pretty much be because it looks good :/
