Do we Have any Mega Rich Posters?

Single, *EDIT* incorrect, pay rise, now between 9th and 10th. Forgot about that contract renewal lol.

Couple, No kids, Between 8th and 9th if I have understood it right.

So on paper I am rich? Why do I feel so poor?

Because you live in an area with high property prices and are surrounded with people also around the same income?

People tend to 'feel' rich when they have a lot of money compared to the people around them rather than at an absolute amount of wealth.

Makes total sense.

Top decile but really am nowhere near up here in the grand scheme of things when you compare to others in the industry.

Time to find a better paid job :p

The money bands seem a bit misleading though. 30k in London wont get you anywhere near as far as 30k in the Northwest for example. 30k is actually pretty well off up here! :p

Speaking of rich, I wonder how the demographic of OCUK falls into these categories: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/budget/10719060/How-rich-are-you.html

Going off that chart, I live with my partner (we are not married) and one of her kids still lives with us, so if I go off the 'Couple with one child' column, between the sixth and seventh decile

If you took the extra wage from her son, we would be near the eighth

Generally, people who have earned their money the hard way don't usually boast about it.

People who earn it the easy way, such as footballers, trust fund kids and beiber equivalents - they tend to go a bit nuts with it as well as have no trouble boasting about it.

I wouldn't say Footballers have had it THAT easy. Pushy parenting and having to train very hard when they were kids, then they had to make it in one of the most competitive job markets on the planet.

If you are a single mother, on the dole, claiming benefit for you and your 6 kids, where does that put you on the chart?
