Tyres: Need 4 Where's Best?

From what I can tell, they do not do a 275/35/R19 in that tyre. I was actually posting that tyre up as my thought, hadn't noticed you had suggested it.

So the question is, can I run 40 series instead of 35 series and what impact will that have. We are talking 5mm difference?

Yeah depends on the profile though to govern the max tyre envelope. Sometimes the smaller wheels can have a larger tyre envelope.

I think I will keep the profile and sizes I have and go in a different direction. BMW approves fitment of PS2's and I know they worked well on my M3's and though an older design are still a very good tyre. What I need to establish is are they quieter as really this has become an important factor. On a sports car tyre noise is not an issue but on a big 5 series which is very quiet tyre noise is really invasive and annoying.

You mentioned Continental SportContact 5s in your OP. Why aren't you considering those?

Out of interest, did you have to put any tyres on with an XL rating when you ditched the runflats?

Well I finally got around to putting some AS2's on my car and first impressions are they are significantly quieter, which is pleasing and they seem a little more pliant compared to the Supersports. Too early to add anything on their performance, but as I wanted something quieter I am happy.
