Funny thing is you'd get some sales, especially as Scotland isn't as densely populated so the cables don't pick up as much electrical interference during creation.:p

"We’ve tested the Sarum Tuned ARAY Ethernet cable in a whole variety of systems. As a straight connection between streamer and router, as a connection between streamer and pre-installed Ethernet cable and as a connection between streamer and Ethernet signal carried over the mains."

So apparently their magical cable can improve the quality of audio - sorry, "level of detail and musical coherence" - that's already been sent over 20 year-old house electrical wiring or existing "peasant quality" ethernet cable. Riiiiiiiiiiight.

thats going in my marketing pack :)

along with some comment on how each cable is manufactured by workers who have washed their hands in the much softer scottish water rather than the nasty harsh southern stuff resulting in less abrasion to the cables during manufacture.

starting at only £550 a metre how many can i put you down for?

pretty sure motherboards are made so cheaply that this wouldn't make a trillianth of difference.

That's okay, I'm sure 233 can start a range of audiophile motherboards too. A sticker on the chipset heatsink should be all the modification it needs.

would you do 3 meters for 1500?

seeing as your a fellow ocuk member i'll do you a special offer of £1400 for 3 meters

optional extras include

having the cable core wiped up a hookers chuff. +£400 a metre, this will improve your downloading speeds and will seal in the 1s and 0s due to the enzymes found only in dirty bints

having your cable assembled by moonlight, +£275 a metre
reduces uv exposure on the cable resulting in a crisper digital signal.

and finally i can offer device optimisation +£525 metre if you tell me the make and model of your devices you wish to connect i can optimise the cable laying and adjust the braid positioning and weave to ensure your cable is perfectly tuned for your desired usage.

so 3 metres with your ocuk discount fully optioned as you really wouldn't want an inferior cable now would you? call it a round £3900 seeing as i'm such a good guy

they forgot to add that it will boost your internet speed and that you will become a chick magnet after buying these because the cables are dipped in a special pheromone

The reality is we are all just jealous as we are not making an obscene profit selling snake oil to the gullible rich. Mock the company all you like but people buy this stuff so why wouldn't they make it? The marketing is great and plays to the rich audiophile's who can all be convinced that every thousand pounds on something silly makes that little bit more difference.

while everyone can have a laugh at the really obvious stuff like ethernet cables and HDMI cables there are still plenty of people, even here on a forum ostensibly aimed at technical people, who are still drinking the Kool-Aid as far as things like speaker cables and modern amplifiers with minimal THD are concerned...

Not really; personally I wouldn't have the morals (or rather, lack thereof) to do it. Quite how they can claim that an ethernet cable improves sound quality is beyond me, and shouldn't even be legal in the first place.

Register a complaint with Trading Standards then  .... They made Russ Andrews change their marketing.

You guys haven't seen the packaging :p
The Sarum ARRAY cables come in lovely velvet pouch as well as the Apple style white box.

I'm pretty sure an audiophile could be convinced that this cable is a vital addition to their set-up:

oh dear....
Now I’m not going to waste your time talking technical. You can put whatever research you want in front of me, all the measurements in the world aren’t going to stop me from having the opinion that all digital cables do not sound the same. There, I said it.

I don’t know why they sound different – speak to a few of the big cable manufacturers and heck, they’ll tell you that even they don’t know. They have theories, but that’s all. Does this lack of scientific proof mean that there aren’t differences? I don’t think so, but it’s this lack of knowledge that makes life difficult for us and the industry as a whole.

:(:rolleyes::p:D
