Any Three customers got their 4G yet?

I get 22-24Mbps on 3G near where I live :D

Must say that while I'm looking forward to getting decent LTE in my area, I don't really feel a need for it with Three's current performance.

Flippin heck. Time I got rid of GiggGaff, if I see 3Mb down if I'm very lucky. You're right, with those sort of 3G speeds most people won't need 4G.

I have a Three 4G phone as well for a bit. I do get the speeds you quote above, but on 4G. Maybe I'll limit it to 3G as an experiment and see what those speeds are.

Of course, it depends on area, we're talking about an area with very strong signal. At home it's more like 10Mbps, with poor to mediocre signal.

I get an average of 6 -10mbps in Cornwall with some areas hitting 20mbps. Enough to stream content in the car :). Not bothered with the 4g with these speeds. Funny that my mate was given a tester 4g dongle couple of years ago yet no sign of it coming to Cornwall after being the Guinea pigs.

I'd be happy with 6-10 if I could ever get it !

In the middle of London, full signal on H+, just now 1.32Mb down and 1.29Mb up. Giffgaff. Just awful.

My H speeds at home are pretty decent on three..

Mine fluctuates, the first test i got 24, the next one i got 4, then 20 again, so that 49 may just be a fluke! Haven't managed to get it again sadly.

Three to end unlimited data! The One Plan is apparently going to end on the 31st May and new fixed data caps will be introduced. :(.

:eek::eek::eek:

Maybe they have to protect their network, especially with 4G take-up increasing. I would assume existing contracts are unaffected, but as usual there is probably something in the small print....

The only place I've seen this so far is from one thread on DigitalSpy (where I presume you got this information from?). Hopefully we'll find out more information soon.

Just ran a test at home on Three.

4G -18.21 down 15.80 up

then changed the network setting to limit to 3G

3G - 3.60 down 2.42 up (1st try)
3G - 6.07 down 1.41 up (2nd try)

_HUGE_ difference 3G vs 4G.

Everyone, disregard this, it is by a well-known troll on that forum.

Had a search and it does seem he randomly posted it...don't have a clue about his reputation but in all fairness random rumours like this sometimes come true. This said, the two previous leaks were of advertising material for the new tariffs...hopefully it isn't true though.

Just for those who are worried about any changes happening, you can upgrade your contract one month early at no extra cost. In my case, my Ultimate Internet SIM 600 plan was due to finish in early May, now finishing in early April and moving to the One Plan at £20 per month. Must say that while I sorta wish I moved to the One Plan when it was at £15 a month, including paying off my current contract it would have taken 1.5-2 years to make up the difference to how I've done it now, and £20 is a great deal anyhow :)

EDIT: Quick question. Can they enforce changes once the 12 months is up and the contract becomes a 1 month rolling contract (eg. limiting tethering down to 2GB), or are they stuck providing me with unlimited tethering until I decide to change to a new plan? And I'm right in saying that, as Three don't have any fair usage policies nor any clauses about changing limits etc, they cannot change these mid-term? In other words...what I've signed up for now, will it be indefinite? Have a good idea but would rather someone who is more clued up than myself confirm this! Thanks all :)

If you don't renew, you're still bound by the original terms of your contract.
