La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 - Season 2013-2014 Discussion

Pretty usual NeymaroAshleysque trick from brazilian, drag one foot and trip over. As well as unsurprisingly omnipresent midget fallfest by Iniesta.
On the other hand both episodes staged on the highest professional level.

... beat wages and transfer fee's any other teams can sensibly match.

Unless you're backed by those senseless Russian oligarch's, Arab sheikhs and their generous posse. :)

If Barca dont win the La Liga i would absolutely love it if Atletico won it instead...would be nice to see a different team win the title rather than these 2 all the time:p.

Plus i like Simeone as a manager, he has Atletico playing some nice football. Wouldnt mind having him as the next manager of Arsenal.

LOL Real fan butthurt at its finest there;), not like Ronaldo did a cheeky dive to get a penalty even though it was outside the box...not like Pepe headbutting Fabregas but getting away with it. Oh lets see Ramos bringing down a player in the box, straight red and penalty...stupid place to tackle a player, always going to be trouble that is. Oh the icing on the cake, Alonso coming in to take out Iniesta when there was absolutely no need to as the ball had run away..

But hey its all Barca's fault for Real's stupidity in defending isnt it?? lol

People always look for excuses, should be blaming Madrid for being so **** in defence.

Entertaining game of football.
Real are still slight favourites for the league. Barca have been dropping points constantly for the last 4 months and I don't see that changing. How the teams handle the games during the CL ties will be key.

Barcelona really need to sort out the centre of defense. Mascherano has being playing as an emergency CB for 3 years now and it would have cost them tonight if Real were more clinical.

Barca's wages are currently miles and miles above what City/Chelsea spend. Also in FFP terms they are completely untouchable.

Imagine the EPL gave 250mil in tv money to the top 2 teams and 20mil to everyone else instead of 60mil to everyone, that is effectively the difference between La Liga and every other league.

They play with a high line and depend on pace to get them out of trouble at the back and Mascherano fits the bill perfectly. In an ideal world a player with a bit more height would be better, so it's understandable to see them look at players like David Luiz, but they're never going to be a team that depends on a solid back line and balls to the wall type of defenders to win them games.

I just thought to myself who would be perfect to play with Messi up front? Then it dawned on me how scary would it be if Suarez and Messi were playing in the same team?

Messi is so talented that not many players could read what he is going to do next or know where he is going to be, Suarez is a similar player imo to Messi and both would form an amazing attack. I think him and Suarez would rip apart opposition defences just for the fun of it.

Rak (cancer) is finally becoming a truly all-round Mf this year - top in assists and goals for Sevilista, La Liga's best player of January; bit a late bloomer at 26 but still has loads of potential.
Prolly another great bargain player for Epl.

Not good for him, or them :|. It'll be interesting to see how Pinto does, but I imagine teams will be keen to test him! Then Valdés could be screwed... will anyone decent offer him a contract in the summer, coming off the back of a serious injury?

It has to be said, that hasn't been confirmed... and I didn't see the injury/him getting stretched off... did anyone here?

Yep soon as he hurt himself, he called for medical help. Massive blow to Barca, he has saved their skins numerous times with some epically good saves. Feel for him as he is now out of the WC as well :/.

Rumours are that he might go to City in the summer, thats if they want to take him because he is now out for a minimum of 6mth at least. Hes meant to have surgery done, similar to Walcott iirc.

Pinto made some really important saves last night. Kept a clean sheet as well.

Real losing two games in a row. Amazing how quickly things can turn around. What a season it has been for La Liga. Gripping stuff.

Should be a straight forward 3 point for Real but I wouldn't be surprised if Barcelona or Atletico dropped points.
