Working with dotvps.co to remedy packet loss on Teamspeak.

Actually working with the CEO of the company directly so it should be resolved soon. Again I feel it is a case of buy cheap buy twice : £14 a month un managed vps vs TSOHOST £60 a month, 1/4 of the spec, managed vps. I don't want to spend £60 a month on a teamspeak server alone really!

easy enough yeah, you'll need the 64bit version of sweetfx if you're using Windows 8.1 tho

Just installed, seems alright but I don't even know if I can see any difference. :p

Can you sort my access out on TS as I can't speak in the 'Regulars Only' channel? cheers

And you shouldn't have to. Surely the admins or regulars on the server would be willing to chip in some cash to keep you going on a middle of the road option.

That's a stupid price anyway.

GameServers.com have a 50 player TS for £25 (3 months).

We had a gameservers TS before, I upgraded it as the server kept dropping out A LOT and the admin CP didn't work, you would click reboot and it would just error or the http control panel would time out.

Multiplay are even cheaper. £15 for 3 months with 50 slots.

Edit: Can't join the 'Regulars Only' channel... Asks me for some password.

You seem to think that the cheaper the better. This is wrong in many areas of life especially servers - the cheaper the price the more virtual machines (shared resources) per actual server. The more virtual machines = greater clients per server = more load = less reliability.

This new VPS, other than packet loss every now and then it has not dropped connection like the GS did every 2 hours!
Think the packet loss might be down to an UDP port.

That's because there is a password.

I've always used Multiplay and it's been fine.

What is the password?

A fantastic video. :D

Spot on - sadly what makes it the more irritating is that there is a good game under there if it was broken and rubbish it would be easier just to pretend it never existed and move on.

Some of the really irritating things like boundary handling are simple fixes that would reduce the negative side of the game and help the positive to emerge are fairly simple - if a player is actively trying to get back in the boundaries for instance the game should be more relaxed timer wise (its relatively simple to detect).

Dying twice due to "netcode" failures then ending up out of bounds for whatever reason and unable to get back in in time due to the parachuting being awkward or whatever just induces rage for no good reason. Its obvious Dice don't really spent much time playing their game or those kind of things would be the first thing they'd have gone away and fixed in beta.

Putting the password here would defeat the purpose of having a password.

Are you being intentionally difficult? If you are going to host the shared community server don't be so averse to letting people access it.

Drop me a Trust message which will be sent securely without prying eyes.
