Spec me a WWII shooter

I'm after a World War II shooter set in the Pacific. I can only think of MoH Pacific Assault but I seem to recall it was a bit pants.

Anyone got any ideas? PC / PS2 / PS3 / X360 are all OK!

Rising Storm is about you're only choice for the Pacific, only released last year.

If you haven't tried it yet and already have Battlefield 2, then get the Forgotten Hope 2 mod, no Pacific theatre but it's one of the best WW2 shooters out there.

Resistance and Liberation (Half Life 2 mod) is pretty good, don't think it does pacific maps though.

There is a single player campaign but it's basically playing the multiplayer maps with bots filling both teams, so doesn't really count. It's a multiplayer-centric game.

Vanilla Battlefield 2 has Imo Jima one of my fav BF2 maps.

I dug out my copy of Rising Sun last night and gave it a bash, it was great! I think I might invest in Rising Storm when I get bored of Rising Sun. Lots of good ideas suggested...

Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam expansion, although it seems to be quite deserted these days.

I'd still love for EA to release BF1943 on pc, I'd play it to death.

Oh and incase you didn't know, BF1942 is now free to play from the origin website. Just the vanilla game though.
