Is it fair that I was excluded from college?

Go and grovel, hope they accept it and let you back in, ** edited **
If that doesn't work McDonalds is always looking for staff.

I am not going to apply for a ****** job just cause they wont let me back in.

Well its either that or find another college.
If you're out of education, its best to start work straight away. Even if its a **** job, employers will think better of you for it. Also you earn moneys

Why not?
I've got 2 friends who left school when I went on to 6th form and worked in McDonalds and they're both now regional managers with their own houses, fancy company cars and on a dam good wage.
The job is what you make of it.

I am just **** scared of going down that path.

Well then you've got to start accepting there are consequences of your actions, but either way if you get kicked out it's not the end of the world.
If you're as talented as you seem to think then there's nothing stopping you going freelance, getting into an apprenticeship scheme, accepting the fact that you may need to do some growing up by getting a "****" job as you put it and going back as a more mature student or taking one of those jobs and making the most of it and working your way up like the people I know have done and one of them done it while looking after an unplanned child at the age of 16.

As someone who got himself excluded from college by doing IT pranks many many years ago I had some sympathy.

I am not going to apply for a ****** job just cause they wont let me back in.

But then I read this. Its a job. It may not be the most glamorous job, but so what? People need food, you need money and experience. Suck it up and show the world you are an adult not a petulant child. This thinking is exactly why we are getting more and more people from other countries to do work that "we're too good for". And then they progress and outpace you in the job market. Because they don't have this fear of **** jobs.

Getting back to your college issue. I would point out a few things here.
A few lines of code to simulate a BSOD is not a virus. Or malware. Or a Trojan. Its a prank. A joke. Harmless tripe. It is possibly a breach of their internal rules, but the Computer Misuse Act? Fat chance.

Write a letter. Not an email. Write to the head of the year, or the head of the course you are on asking to be allowed to complete your course. Do not demand, the ball is in their court and if they want to they can tell you to Do One.

Having agreed to a code of conduct with the college not to breach their rules, you are a numpty for having done so. Explain to them you realise this and it is your immaturity that stopped you from realising the significance this would have. Other people being fools is not a reason for you to also be the fool.

Time for some Humble Pie.
I wonder if that's next seasons McDonalds special!?

Thank you! :) Well I've still to wait yet, they are having to conduct an investigation so I will give them a few days.

Kid, you seriously news a attitude adjustment.

I 'own' fast food places. I have employees who have phd's in various disciplines. They, eventually move on, but i assure you they work like dogs and do it with à smile.

I know, but i found that peoples 'Internet persona' can slip into rl.

Thé main thing y ou neéd to learn asap is that as you progress people haven't thé inclination to be thorough. Path of least resistence is thé usual action, especially from institutions.

Anyway, good luck.

Grow up.

Stop trying to point the finger elsewhere or get out of what you've done. Be a man, accept it, apologise, bend over and accept the punishment whatever it may be and learn from it.

If they allow you to continue your education then go a friggin learn. Stop messing around just to make the pretty girl laugh. How's it going to look to any future employer that you couldn't hold down something as simple as college?

Oh so you did something that someone else did and got caught whilst they didn't?

How very dare they punish you!!!

You should have really learn't from the first time shouldn't you?

free day off school, win win.

Im with you on this, you did it with proper code. Deserves a commendation :p but also welcome to the world of office politics and dont over think it just shut up for the remainder of whatever term you might have. Sounds like you are on a thin thread now

Would an apology definately work?

The question above alone shows that you're not actually sorry imo. An apology should be a given regardless of how you perceived it, not something you do only if it helps you 'get off the hook'.

Or not. If he wanted to show off his "skills" he should have done it by creating something useful or productive, not in a way that's going to waste a lot of people's time and impact other students learning. Any kid can Google a few lines of code to display a full screen image, it certainly doesn't deserve a "commendation"
