Titanfall (Respawn Entertainment's new IP)

by far, the most annoying aspect of this game is the matchmaking. I absolutely cannot stand being dumped into a game thats in progress, only to find out my team are losing something like 150/280. I usually just back out instantly and try again. Can sometimes take up to 10 mins to find a decent game.

The matchmaking dumping you on the winning side would break the matchmaking as everyone would take advantage.

So erm...sorry if this has been asked over and over again but, is this worth a puchase? Is it likely to still have a decent population in 6 months time?

Is it a good multiplayer game? Yes, it's really fun to play, well put together and incredibly enjoyable.

Is it worth the price? That's really hard to say, it depends how many hours you think would make it a worthwhile purchase for you. 50? 100? infinite?

I've played just under 15 hours at the moment and I still enjoy it a lot, it reminds me a lot of Halo more than cod. That is to say it's a more dynamic game. How much more will I play it, I don't know. I'm not far off unlocking most of the things on offer... There's something that is a little insubstantial about it all, with the graphics as they are and the limited content it feels a lot like an F2P game, if that makes any sense.

If price is not an issue then definitely go for it, it's a lot of fun. If you're weighing up other options against it it might not be a good choice until it drops in price, if it does. I was umming and aahing about buying it as I was not sure on the price but in the end I'm glad I did.

As I understand it Respawn are adding more game modes for free and the usual DLC... So who knows where it might go.

Im on 17 hours played so far and no where near bored. No two games are the same, even when playing with the same people. Constantly have to adapt to what gets put in front of you, which I find quite interesting. Been using the single shot sniper rifle but often having to switch to a machine gun/smg depending on the playstyle of who I'm up against. Same with titan loadouts, as I've now got specific titans for a selection of levels I know they perform the best on. Example being Atlast with Triple Threat weapon on the Rise map. So many places to hide and just pepper the crap out of enemies with the nades.

this is probably the best answer you'll ever see regarding the game. excellent synopsis/review

Ive played abotu 3 hours, and im done. Really wasnt worth the investment for me. Its COD/Mirrors Edge and the novelty has worn off.

This was always going to be more popular on xbox one- pc gamers have a plethora of fps options to suit tastes and are spoilt with gems like quake live- rocket jumping is so much more satisfying and skillfull compared to just mashing space and sticking to walls like spiderman!

On the other hand, as an xbox one owner, this is a gem as apart from fifa, theres nowt much else that gets my attention :)

Bought this yesterday and it is seriously great fun. The matchmaking system is hugely annoying though, even though I've just started out and am only level 6 now, it keeps putting me in games with mostly high level, multi-prestige (or whatever they call in in Titanfall) players who seemingly can kick my ass from a mile away.

Still though, having a whale of a time playing this. Best £25 I've spent in a long time.

They are working on the matchmaking (hence the new improved matchmaking lobby). They are going to take the data from the beta 'Improved Matchmaking' test lobby and apply it to all the other game modes eventually.

That would be awesome, I've tried a few games using the matchmaking beta test, slightly better to be honest.

Really loving this game though.

Bored of it already tbh. Can't see me even reaching the first prestige or what ever it's called.

It does seem that way sometimes, can't see me playing it for hours and hours...

I still believe they have something good with Titanfall, what they have I think works well....but i 'still' feel there's something always missing....

I know it's suppose to be centered around 'online multi-playing', but why stop there?!?....Imagine in-depth campaigns and a huge universe to explore, it would be awesome!

Lets see what expansions bring to the table, maybe.
