New Peugeot 107 Rust

Surface rust, forget about it tbh. Even if it was fresh looking when new, it'd be rusty in a month or so anyway. As has been said, brake discs etc have patches of rust after a slight downpour lol.
 
Majority of modern cars are like that, simple reasons:
-Massive savings on paint costs
-Never in customers eye line during normal usage
-Doesn't pose any threat to vehicle performance.

Just enjoy the car and forget about it!!
 
Absolutely normal that is. As a mechanic I spend a lot of time under cars, and those bits in particular are rarely painted and do end up with plenty of surface rust, it's a non issue though, you can't normally see it and it's doing no harm at all.

When do they usually start to leak? My brother bought is 3 kids one each about three years ago and they have had no problems with leaks.

Enjoyable enough to hurl around town for a couple of miles, but they rattle and squeak and just generally feel cheap - because they are, get exactly what you pay for so need to set expectations at the right level! They're an 8 grand car in a world where a fiesta costs 14k, tells you all you need to know. For the use ours gets though ( I.e I don't need to drive it and it literally goes round the corner most days) its perfectly suited

Flip side is they don't really fall apart as there's nothing to fall off!

I paid £6700 for a 5 door active which I thought was a good price.
 
Seems good for a new one, ours was £5k a year ago for an urban on an 11 plate.

They're just basic little cars, can't expect too much

Depends on the individual car. But they will start leaking eventually. They're cheap. Comes in through the antenna, rear light clusters, boot mounted light, vents behind the rear bumper...

The girlfriend has the Aygo to which the 107 is related and I had to reseal all of the above with bitumen sealant. Still not entirely convinced it's resolved the problem since there's been so much rain and we have no garage and no way of drying out the car completely at the minute so it's still condensing up like mad. But at least the wheel well in the boot doesn't need to be bailed out with a cup and the car doesn't smell like mouldy damp.
