I know it's supposed to be like one of the best game ever, but for some reason it just doesn't motivate me to play nor does it really excite me. Don't know what's wrong with me...I actually got the game when it first came out as well.

Maybe you're a Call of duty or League of legends kind of person.

I only played COD4MW and CODMW2, and never touched LOL

Come to think of it I haven't really done any actual PC gaming since I got my 290 in December...what's happening to me...?

It's like I'm too "lazy" to game on PC these days...only play games on my mobile and PS Vita

I still haven't completed HL2, nevermind the expansions...

For some reason I always got half-way through the game and stopped, and then restarting from beginning again after a long time later, then stopped again. Don't know why but just can't seem to bring myself to play the game properly...

I completed HL1 and all the expansions without issue...

I still have to complete HL1. Bought the whole series on Steam to play on my laptop while travelling because gaming time is scarce and would prefer to dedicate all my time with my gaming rig home for newer games

Make sure you use lots o AMD SuperSampling if you do. Makes even poor textures look 4k like. Using in game x8 AA coupled with enhance supersampling will render at 8 times your current resolution used.

Will reinstall HL2 and give that a try tonight. I have a 290 so should be quite a treat

I have done the same as marine, and at some point remember owning the orange box. For some reason never finished HL2. I played it briefly before BF4 came out getting past the water level, now I have switched SSD and wiped it - doh.

A word of warning, its pretty demanding. It might work on full whack in older titles but in newer ones you have to settle for x2 or at most x4 and this is on crossfire.

Yea I figured But it's only older titles that would really benefit anyway. The newer games I have played are already stunning.

i7-2700k that I can get to 4.8GHz stable (still need to try and push for 5Ghz!), 16GB of RAM and a single 290. I got some older games in sales recently so will have to give this a try. I knew supersampling was a thing, just not how to use it.
