Hi guys.

What kinda performance do you think will be possible on a 4k panel running the Crossfire setup in my sig?

I was going to sell the 7950's for around £300 a while back, then put that money towards the upcoming 6GB 780 but I'm sure performance on a single 780 will not be on par with my two 7950s.

Running a 4k panel is right up there at the top of my list, and I saw Gibbo mention in the monitors section when he was describing some of the new 4k panels, he mentioned you'll need a 290x or 780ti if you want one. Looking at various comparison charts and figures that show my 7950s outperform a top of the line single GPU in most cases unless that single GPU is insanely overclocked.

So like I said earlier, do you think I could get away with running my 7950s on a 4k panel with reasonable fps?

yes just don't go nuts with AA and drop a couple of settings down to ~med and you should get a reasonable experience I would say.

i was under no illusion I can run 16xAF and 8xSSAA but on a 4k panel would you really need all that extra eye candy lol. I can't wait to see the clarity in these beasts.

I ran BF4/Tomb Raider and a few other games on a single Titan @ 4K and had no problems. I had to drop settings but not to anything low and the frmes/smoothness was very good.

Thinking of buying one for use with my crossfire 7970's but would really like to see what 4k no AA looks like in the flesh.

yep...will be keeping a close eye on things the next few months for sure. Wont be making any hasty purchases thats for sure. I waited out 1440p panels, was about to buy at one point but held back for the 4k screens. Exciting times.

A GTX 780 running a custom BIOS and boost disabled can quite easily keep up with a pair of 7950's, I know because I moved from 7950 Crossfire to a single GTX 780 on a custom BIOS and it was amazing. It even battered the 7950's in a couple of games.

Could you not get a 3rd 7950?
