Houses in Detroit

Sounds like a risky way of investing 25k. If it was such a good investment, the prices would be on the rise from investors in the US who will have better connections to manage such an investment.

yeah lets just ignore the economic and racial segregation....

Exactly And that's why those with zero local knowledge or rose tinted glasses shouldn't consider hair brained investments.

its vitally important to know what kind of people are going to be renting and racial profiling works pretty well in 99% of cases. :p

RandomShenanigans, did you ever go anywhere with this or research it any further? Just interested from a catch-up-thread perspective now that someone's resurrected it. :)

I wanted to go back over, but haven't had a chance with trying to sort out arrangements for the wife popping our daughter out. I have to say, all the /REALTOOORS/ (said in US accent) were absolutely awful to deal with. Got details of some properties but they have no time to detail anything for you and made me want to stab him in the face.

Risky, lots of crime, Russians who tend to buy property in the hundreds tend to be Mafia, owning 2 properties on a street full of mafia controlled houses can only lead to one thing...hostile takeover.

Then you have the people in the areas where the housing is this cheap... ever watched 8 Mile?

Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. But what do I know?

Do you even know what a hostile takeover is?

I've looked a t Florida for similar reasons (although wasn't as depresses as Detroit). I know central fla so felt a bit of comfort that i could choose well. In the end i let inaction win out.
