Aventador crash in London

You've never even been in areas where it says 20 is plenty? He was still going far too fast for what was around the area.

I have been in 20 is plenty areas... unless its changed very recently this is not one of them

Nor was the Aventador a smart driver either.

Not disagreeing

Would love to see the insurance policy for the Mazda driver if they are found at fault, and the Aventador is written off.. claim of >£300,000

That won't be written off I think. All the parts are bolt on and that bump won't have affected the carbon tub.

lmao @ people saying the Lambo was not going double the speed he should have been.

He took off and had to have the car towed away ffs. Looked like he was doing at least 40 at the time of impact, he will have been braking (you'd imagine) seeing the Mazda pulling out and was clearly driving like a **** in London.

The guy driving the Lambo was apparently very apologetic and no one was injured so happy days.

Most cars like that would need to be towed away they're not designed to survive impacts, they're designed to protect the occupants. especially an aventador. That's why it had to be towed. Also, a 20mph crash at the right angle can completely disable your car. So your "point" is fairly empty.

Reminded me of the Aventador crash from last year which tore the back end right off the car. Granted, he's doing a bit more speed... but you can see exactly how the car works in regard to protecting occupants in the tub compared to the rest of the vehicle.

The rear is a space frame bolted to a carbon tub. The weak point will be the shear bolts so it's no surprise they split apart.

The rear wings are plastic too :D

50/50 IMO, if either party ad been driving with due care and attention the would have been no accident so they are just as much to blame. Yes the Lambo did have right of way but as legal precedent shows right of way does not entitle you to drive into things in your way (this is the reason roundabout rules were changed), the Lambo driver had ample time to see what the Mazda was doing and react to it, but he didn't due to either excessive speed, lack of attention or both.

What "point" are you referring to exactly?

Watched the video again to comment, and notice the brake lights aren't even on when the Lambo is in the air!

I suspect the driver was getting noshed off by that blonde and was looking down as the Mazda was pulling out of the junction. Any careful driver would have been able to avoid that accident from both parts and all it proves is that there are people on the road that are not always concentrating.

Drive safe!

Didnt you watch the vid?

Which means hes wasnt braking yet stopped pretty promptly after being airborne.

I guess most people thinking hes doing lots more than the speed limit havent really seen a proper accident?

Ton of hatred spewing on FB at the moment from "normal people" (who aren't into cars), apparently the gist of it is that the Aventador owner is to blame because he owns a £300k car and, to quote one person, "you can get a load of unemployed people some living arrangements for a long time for that".

I believe I predicted this when it happened 2 days ago.

Sad world we live in - you work hard - you acquire money - all the people who can't be bothered to work hard hate you for it.

I did watch it. Did you listen to the engine tone? You can hear it rapidly drop before the Lambo even enters the frame, suggesting he either

a) engaged the clutch (lol)
b) shifted to neutral (..........)
c) was braking heavily
