I have an MSI 290 Gaming and it looks like it's drooping a little from the weight, is there a tidy way of supporting it at the front to help stop this?

Can you use some cable ties to lift and hold it up?

You should if you can, letting the GPU droop like that is not healthy, eventually it will damage it.

I could do that, but it would look a bit ****.

Will it really damage it?

I'm fairly sure I've had this before, but without a windowed case ignorance was bliss and experienced no problems (that I noticed).

Well, it may or may not, it can; i guess is what i should have said, personally i wouldn't take the risk, the PCB heats up and cools down constantly, thats fine if the shape never changes, warming and cooling softens the plastic, if there is enough pressure on it to cause it to bend it will weaken as it gets warm and harden as it gets cool, so its flexing as it does that, eventually it may get brittle and crack.

mmj_uk has a good idea. use the PCIe cables to disguise the fact that its being held up.

As others have said, use the power cables to support that end of the card. Another option is to use some thin wire/thread around the power cables and tie it off at the top of your case to pull the card up a little.

Expensive option, but the one I went for, is to get a case with a rotated motherboard such as a Silverstone Raven or FT model. Never have to worry about mavity affecting your GPUs again! :D

How about a piece of dowling used as a pole? cut to right length and sit it under gpu and bottom of case, paint it whatever colour you like, you could even glue on a little rubber washer each end of the dowl so as not to scratch anything. Would look nice and neat too.

I had the same problem with my MSI 290x Gaming. To me it was an obvious design floor and I tried doing the PCI-E cable trick, but it didn't help. I've now switched to 780tis and they are sturdy and straight.

My 7970 does this, I tried the cable trick, but it didn't really do much, so I just ignore it now :)

There are two solutions on the market designed to help this,

Powercolor power jack
Scythe Ninja wire.
