***The Official Battlefield 4 Thread***

Cheers - I'll believe it when I see it though.

Same

I played 64-Man Conquest Operation Mortar on one of the Test Servers last night, felt so much better. Fingers crossed they can do they same with the rest of the servers...

Here's the original article

http://blogs.battlefield.com/2014/04/addressing-battlefield-4-rubber-banding-issues/

As we said last year. Its purely down to crap server hosting. This also explains why rubber banding is so prevalent on the 64 player PS4 / Xbox one servers but not on the 64 player PC servers which are hosted by 3rd parties.

Xbox 360 / PS3 isn't anywhere near affected since its a max of 24 players which plays fine.

Do you know if the rent-a-servers (if we ever get them) will go to 3rd parties?

I wish I could trade 25%/50% bonuses for 200% bonuses. I had 3 200% yesterday and went up 5/6 levels, the higher the bonus the crazier I'll play (and I got 4 service stars). I've still got 60 25% but whenever I have one of them active I don't do very well so don't get many bonus points.

No

You buy them through the Xbox / Playstation store and then get given one of the DICE servers to re brand and set up as you want.

Its probably one of the reasons why we don't have a rental servers yet if they aren't happy with their server hosting. I'm guessing EA contract this out to somebody.

Yeah I thought so... F paying for one of the servers in their current state. Maximum trolling by EA (probably not DICE's fault) Hopefully they sort the hosting out ASAP

what would the price plan usually be for renting a server aren't they usually around £5-£10 per month? It's been so long since I've played on one (CSS on PC).

Personally i don't see the point if they are the exact same servers dice offer, unless you want to play with custom rules like no snipers, noob tubes or vehicles, etc.

Also if you really want the game fixed, complain to watchdog, seriously FIFA had a DC issue where EA said they were "working on it" for like over 6 months, bare in mind the game only has a shelf life of 12 months.

As soon as the game was featured on watchdog they had a patch out within 2 weeks which fixed it.

It's not just custom rules, but also and the most common is Map rotations.

Many people like second assualt but hate Metro so that could be cut, the same with lockers, and also mixing them up, some Naval some Vanilla and others from second assault and the upcoming DLC.

think prices were quite high if you bought one yourself, but if you can get a group to chip in, it was'nt so bad.

1 DAY £1.49 (120 MSP)
7 DAYS £6.99 (560 MSP)
30 DAYS £24.99 (2000 MSP)
90 DAYS £59.99 (4800 MSP)

That was PS3/Xbox bf3 prices.

£25 per month? - rumoured to be higher?

no thanks jeff, I wouldn't even want to chip in with 10 people at those prices. PC dedicated servers are pennies in comparison and they can also have customised tick rates, etc.

They are expecting you to pay bugatti veyron prices for a vauxhall corsa. There's no way I would want to contribute to such gouging.

I'm sure we've discussed the price of servers on here before. I know I read somewhere that the price of private servers is only something like £5 a month. EA just bump up the price and rip off their customers.

Lats, how about you pay for the lot of us as a treat? You're older than most of us, I think it's about time you treated us youths. What say ye?

I'll pay only if its 24/7 locker and metro....

*the above may not be true

Sounds like a good idea...

In all fairness I love Metro though, I think it's a much better map on rush though.

When rentable servers become available, I hope we are given the option to remove commanders completely.
