I'm on the look out for a new monitor and was wondering if anyone could tell me what the difference is between the following 2 from BenQ -

BenQ XL2720T 27" TRUE 120Hz 3D Vision 2.0
BenQ XL2720Z 27" TRUE 144Hz 3D Vision 2.0

Is it literally just that one is 120HZ and the other is 144HZ and I'd be paying an extra £50 for 24HZ and some motion blue technology or is there some other feature that I've missed ?

Any insight is appreciated :)

What about the 3D aspect, Would I have to get glasses and some other gizmo or just glasses ?, I'm quite new to the world of 3D and want to dabble ^_^

AFAIK you just need a standard pair of 3D glasses and a compatible GPU etc. Note that the Z series has an issue with the anti blur technology that requires a firmware update from V1 to V2. Due to the update only just being released and due to the 2420Z being a relatively new monitor, most places I've found that stock in the UK currently do not offer the V2 version. OcUK currently has mixed stock and there is no guarantee that you'll get a V2 version (which fixes the issue when using Blur Buster Strobe Light tech instead of the BenQ factory default).
