Is it fair that I was excluded from college?

When i was at uni, I sent a block email to about 400 people including members of staff.
It was the usual teenager boy trying to be funny kind of stuff about "daddy locking me in the cupboard." Unbeknownst to me several recipients were quite offended by my fascinating story.

2 days later when i tried to log in to do some work my account had been suspended and i had to speak to the guys at IT services, where they had called the Uni counselor in to help me talk about my experiences as a child....
Rather than come out right with it being a "joke" how much of an immature, unfunny idiot I was instead I played it ultra cool and said i wasn't ready to talk about it yet.

Account instantly re enabled :) no punishment.

Moral of the story, go pro or go home.

In my day, if you wanted to get expelled you took a load of drugs and booze and shagged in public. Sometimes I despair of the younger generations. This is the lamest rebellion ever.

Whatever answer you get to your original question from anyone else isn't going to effect the outcome so it's all meaningless..The College have decided what you did warrant expulsion and it's their rules you broke ?

"Do the crime, do the time"

Think of it as your life's education.."Take responsibility for your actions and don't cry about it"

Your half way to being a man now :)

Remember doing business and finance back when I was 17, stayed at the Lancaster Gate hotel in London for a couple of days. Visited Lloyds, Heathrow, Bank of England and saw Starlight Express.

On the 2nd night we all got absolutely loaded and it was party time, I mean a hotel with alcohol in vending machines, what did they expect. We were hauled into the conference room the next morning and given a little talk by the hotel managers. They took a dim view of various acts like drunken teenagers walking through the lobby in boxer shorts while business guests were congregating to go for dinner. Two brave souls (read-idiots!) had tried to go clubbing and were mugged and then brought back by the police rather worse for wear. And various other things like rooms appearing to be mixed in the morning rather than single sex as was one of the rules.

We had a little grief from some hotel managers, no action from the college and everyone just decided to behave. I suppose they were different days, I expect some major sanctions would follow something like that these days. The point I am making though is that we all behaved after that night, we knew we pushed boundaries way too far that night and for the rest of the year at college we just stuck to the rules.

Hehe, doesn't mean we wouldn't still do it though! :D

The bit i've put in Italics is something the OP needs to do, or at least should have already done?

And another thing, if you are going to fracture a rule or two at least make the pay-off worth having to knuckle down for the rest of the year.

Getting put on sanctions at college for some half-baked script is not worth bothering with, then repeating it until you get to the stage of a contract which if you break you will be expelled is madness. Even so this was just not enough for the OP, he had to do it one more time and could now face expulsion. Where exactly was the entertainment value in what the OP did aside from a few titters to himself that the prank might have annoyed someone.

^ don't be a ****.

OP, you need to grow up dude. We've all done stupid things, but you'll realise very quickly that the punishments get worse the older you get. You've got a genuine chance of kissing goodbye to a few good years which you could use to better yourself.

Get yourself scrubbed up, and good in and apologise profusely. Be genuine and humble and hopefully they'll give you a final chance.

His meeting isn't until 22nd April according to the letter from the college he posted.

Just FYI and for the other few posts above with male referenced suggestions........(who never bothered to read the whole thread and related posts)

Ivee is actually a female ;)

I oddly wonder how sometimes people don't watch GD for an hour before posting and wanting a sensible reply.

Must admit its a good prank and u did code it welldone.. but to an idiot yeah it would flag up as a virus and ur likely to get abit of **** for it. And as u did this before.. I hope you can suck up enough they keep you and keep your head down enough to pass what u have left of your year :)

Erm, I did read the whole thread actually and that isn't indicated in it ... it might be in other threads that the OP has posted in which are linked to but as they aren't relevant to the actual subject here (and were only linked due to unrelated Swedish thing) there was no reason to read them.

Given that the forum demographic is probably at least 80% male it's just the default assumption to make unless the user is well known or has a gender obvious username.
