Which card for AOC Q2770Pqu 27

Picking up a AOC Q2770Pqu 27, so 2560x1440 My pc specs are below in sig, what card would be best to run most games nicely for around £300 - £400

Err not tried one, I have a 290X here and a 1440P monitor and its fine, max details in games etc and silky smooth.

EVGA 780 SC here @1440p all my games run smooth also. Might be $30 to £40 more , or actually 290X is more money? but well worth it.

Came from 1 7950 to two. Then a EGVA classy in the same box and the classy was 10 degrees lower. Plus got better frame rates@1440p

look here and it may help a little about the 290 failure rates and or good cards in that range, personally i dont like the 290 series of cards, even someone at OcUK said they had been a poor product with too many failures when i visited the store.
