Automatic SORN. WIN

I just went to renew my sorn, thinking that the dvla must have forgot to send me a reminder, or worryingly thinking that i might have forgot and to my delight, it's already been sorn'd automatically by the system. At least i don't have to do it manually every year now. No more worrying that i've forgot to sorn it.

It wasn't any effort the old way, but at least i can forget about it now until i come to actually tax it and get it back on the road. Good result i say.

Or like me, they will send you notification that they have automatically SORNed your car despite it still being taxed. Morons.

No gents. You still have to declare your sorn if you don't wish to tax it anymore, but you only have to sorn it once and then it rolls over infinitley year on year. The word i should have used in my op is 'Roll over sorn' The sorn rolls over if it's already declared sorn.

Ah, thought it sounded a bit too good to be true. Still, it's progress I suppose.
