Does the Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 have Hynix memory?

Also how much of a upgrade would it be for me? Don't think I will get one as waiting for 20nm but you never know. HD 7850 crossfire has been good for me though.

7850 CF amounts to 2048 Stream Processors, or in other words a 280X (with 100% CF scaling)

A 290 has 2560 Stream Processors, so 25% more, with it also having 64 ROP's and a 512Bit Bus the scaling would be 100%, so your looking at a +25% performance increase.

I don't know what Memory IC's they all have, the Tri-X should have Hynix but that's no guarantee.

All the ones we have tested had Hynix yes. In general Sapphire do seem to use Hynix.

Not sure about upgrade as I have never tested those GPU.

Thanks, seems to be looking around that a Sapphire Tri-X is the best bet for Hynix memory. Would be nice just to not have any problems with crossfire not scaling right or needing to be turned off. I'll see how I feel :)
