Pc Specs before we begin.

AMD FX 8350 8core standard clock
12GB Hyperx Blue
2 x 120 SSD Raid 0
1TB HD - random storage
3TB HD - movies etc
2 x GTX 760 Asus direct cu.... in SLI
Asus sabertooth rev 2.0

Settings optimized via GeForce experience

Problem: Load BF4, run for approx. 5 mins and whole comps just stops responding, monitor turns off, no hd activity but fans etc continue to run.
here is the kicker, I can't reset it not can I turn it off via 3 second power button hold.

not overheating that I'm aware of and reliability history only shows that it was shutdown incorrectly.

What else should I look for?

Thanks

kernel power error (normally 41) simply means PC was shut down abnormally, does not mean run out and by a new Power Supply.

I can get one right now by pulling plug and booting up again.

So anything crashing PC including a PSU will give that error or similar on restarting

Did I say it did? - I had a Kernel 41 issue and managed to trace it back to the PSU, so bought a new one. But thanks for your input.

They are biting today!

I posted it so every n00b who see it does not run out and buy a new PSU fool.

Is your CPU clock quite high? I have to reduce from 4.6 to 4.4 for BF4, every other game including crysis3 runs at 4.6ghz. Bit of a bitch but it worked for me

Also try running your cards in pci-e 2.0 instead of 3.0 via bios on mobo, don't know why but it certainly helps with some peoples systems including mine (Would just crawl to a standstill in 3.0)

other than that, it might be a PSU upgrade others are suggesting, but I would imagine the system would shut off completely if there was an issue?

n00b? Jesus, I can't converse with someone who uses that in a sentence.

And I'm a fool.

Hi all, cheers for replies and sorry for my own delayed reply, was on a boat in Norway.
So after pulling apart the PC I have found that it is only a "High Power" 750watt PSU. I bought it at PC World bout 3ish years ago.
I had never thought that I could ever have power issues.
Saying that, I have never had any issues running anything else before.
Are there any tests I can run which would draw as much juice from the PSU and see if I can replicate the problem?

Cheers

Disconnect one of the cards and run it on a single card and see what happens with a reduced load. Then swap it to the other card to rule out a card issue. If it's fine on a single card but not on both then I would suspect a power issue.

Tried and tested and..... you were right, it is a power issue.
Each card runs bf4 just fine but not together.
Looks like I need to shell out for 1000w to keep myself covered then :S
Thanks all for the help

1000w is a bit overkill for your system buddy. I'd imagine a decent brand 800w PSU would be more than enough. My system only uses a 600w PSU and it's fine.

The generic PSU you have now probably puts out much less than 750w under load.
