NEW Wheeler Dealers tonight (17th Sep)

Who would buy back the car after it was pretty much ruined for almost double what they sold it for?

Basically paid £4.5k to be on TV and have a terrible wrap put onto his car.

He was screwed with Mike haggling £1k off (maybe a little much) then didn't even bother fighting for an extra 500 when buying her back. If Mike told me he needed to make some money off it, I'd laugh and tell him how that's not my problem.

But they did spend £2.5k:
£1000 - Cooling and AC removal.
£1500 - ECU & Mapping

Still a waste on the works, something he could have done himself. Would have been better to refurb the rims and put the money into brakes and suspension. Stickers and dipped snakeskin wheels looked soo bad.

Got to agree with the majority on this one. I like wheeler dealers for what it is but the aesthetic 'upgrades' to the RX7 were totally tasteless and devalued it imho. If they'd just concentrated on putting it back to A1 condition, done the engine work and spent the money wasted on the horrible snakeskin into suspension upgrades etc it would have been much more desirable. But hey...still a cool car :)

Spent 4hrs last night catching up with this, after going for a run

Lambo - 7/10 - The tuning part was interesting but not a far of the car. Gets a point for the MP12-C at the end.
RX7 - 4/10 - Not my cup of tea, and no real "work" needed on the car. Also lolsnakeskin.
Porsche 993 - 7/10 - Solid episode but I feel they blew too much on the suspension and skimped elsewhere.
XR2 - 8/10 - Classic wheeler dealers. Donor car saved their bacon though! Such a nice example of a restoration.

I love this show, can't help feeling their budgets are complete nonsense - but as I've always said : "never let the truth get in the way of a good story" :)

Anyone know how to get hold of the first couple of episodes? Didn't realise new series was back until the RX7 and sky doesn't seem to have repeats beyond the week after airing :) Keen to see the 993 :D

Financially the show is nonsense, as if you add the labour costs into the mix then they would lose money hand over fist, plus mike doesnt really bargain very well, when it comes to sell the cars.

Well it's not really about making money tbh, it's just showing some of the work they put into the cars and gives tips on fixing them yourself to save a few quid instead of getting it done in a garage.

It is just for car enthusiasts really nothing to do with making money.
