I am looking for a case that will cover the iphone completely (whilst still being usable). Mainly for protection from sand.

Doesn't need to look the part, only do the job as cheaply as possible.

I have an otterbox preserver and it's great.. Not sure which iPhone you have but mine allows me to use the Touch ID while being water proof and drop resistant etc

They aren't too cheap but IMO they are worth it

If you're looking for sand protection you only really have a few contenders from the big names to choose from if you're after a full blown case. Lifeproof, Otterbox, Griffin, and Incipio - all £50-60+ though.

I had a lifeproof and it was ok for what it did, but had loads of problems with the sound and the screen looking a bit rubbish. They now have the new model where it seals on the edge of the screen so doesnt effect the look, but wouldnt really offer the protection from sand scratching your screen you need.

Incipio Atlas peeked my interests because its screen protector is glass and is reported to not rainbow the screen but a few people complaining about the screen being less responsive. A common trade off for all the waterproof/dustproof cases though.

If you're after cheap and you only want it for protection on the beach your choices are going to be limited to the bag style protectors, not idea if you're wanting to record.

All the waterproof cases are at quite a premium.

Basically I want to be able to listen to music on the beach without scratching up my phone and getting sand everywhere.

What do you recommend if I had a budget of £20?

I've got a Griffin Survivor Case for my iPhone 5 (I think it will also fit the iPhone 5S). Its pretty great for using everyday (can treat like the phone more like a hardy tool instead of a delicate *********) and in terms of sand, Griffin say:

The test simulated a driving
sandstorm for 3 hours: windblown
sand and dust up to 59 feet per
second (that's a little over 40
miles per hour).

So hopefully that should do.

Looking online its priced a bit under £20.

Bought a Griffin Surviror case for £12.30 as suggested above and it looks like it will protect it from everything but being dropped in water.

Ill let you know how it gets on when I actually take it abroad!

Glad I didn't waste an extra £40 now...Thanks for the suggestion!
