It's not right in anyway but he was the victim of a crime, even though he is a sentenced prisoner and is therefore allowed to claim compensation.

Just the way the legal system operates.

Lol prison staff didn't protect him.
 
Just because someone is in jail, doesn't mean you can do what ever you want. The prison service still (and rightly so) have a duty of care.

MoJ pleaded guilt, so they obviously failed in there duty.

I appreciate what you are saying & can agree with you but receiving money is way over the line for me.
Stiff reprimand for the Moj, Staff level actions if required but to award a Child killer £4500 cash is taking the **** no matter how you look at it.
 
Deuse that'd be a lot of use when we release them and they're 10x worse than when they went in. prison is mostly about removing the nasties from society and trying to rehabilitate them, not punish/forget about them.

Whilst I'd bring back capital punishment for serious repeat offenders I don't think they should lose their rights the instant we bang them up.

You heed to leave the emotion at the door and realise what you are saying.

Should someone whos in prison for not paying a tax, not have any rights?
It makes no difference why they are in prison (law doesn't change due to who you are, and it never should). That should not and does not come into play as it makes no difference to MoJ shortcoming.

In a workplace where someone gets injured though negligence you would be happy to ignore couth rooms, and just go by internal policy (which they failed to)


Your position makes zero sense at all, and is field by emotion and nothing else. Its a silly position to take.

In my mind they should lose all rights because that’s what losing your liberty means. Go and look it up.

Another good reason to vote UKIP
 
He was assaulted while in her majestys care. Not really much different than being attacked on the street, you would press charges and go to court for compensation if you suffered any injury etc.
