Any good reasons why I should not buy a Segway?

I made a thread about breaking my back.
I fell off a segway.

Don't buy one... Oh wait actually do so you no longer use the forum :)
 
I feel like Magnolia has been watching way too much Arrested Development, seeing he wants to be a magician on a segway.

Next he'll make a sign saying he demands to be taken seriously! ;D
 
Segways are amazing fun, but they're most enjoyable when your mate owns it, so when you're finished riding you realise you didn't just drop a few grand on a toy for half an hour of play, only for it to then sit in the garage for weeks or be forgotten.

The owner of the car dealership where my dad works bought a few of them a couple years back so the employees could use them to get around the lot faster, they were a blast. Brought the off road version home and took it around the forrest behind our house. Was quite dangerous though for a newbie, pretty easy to fall and do some damage if you're too adventurous, would definitely segway again though.
 
I would never spend money on one.

Probably the gayest and silliest looking modes of transport

Its like an OAP carrier for old people that can stand up, but can't walk anywhere

There good fun to be on and use but super dangerous. there's a place behind were i work that have 75 of them for rental for corporate days and stuff and they said people are forever damaging themselves on them. there insurance this year has gone up to 50k

2: You are heterosexual.
3: You do not own a train set, a stamp collection and a signed picture of yourself with John Major.
 
Where would you use it though?
You can't use it on the road as they're not road legal and you can't use it on the pavement as they're too fast to be classed as a mobility scooter.
