Hi folks!

I'm looking to purchase a new gaming laptop. I don't play anything too high spec, mostly just 3rd person things like WoW, Arkham and Diablo 3, but I'd like the option to play a FPS on high settings every so often!

Price isn't particularly an issue, but I don't really want to waste money on being super-high spec for no reason.

Suggestions welcome! ^_^

or newer Apache Pro/GS60 Ghost/G70 Stealth/Pro but i think still pre-order :) Depend what budget and if you prefer 15 or 17"

To answer your question sorry,

Both the one I shown you and the laptop you said would play any game on ultra settings. They would play any games at high settings over 60fps most of the time aswell.

They would both play the games you mentioned at their max fps comfortably.

I dont think that many games use the full 8GB of RAM anyway. More RAM is good if you multi task a lot or use programs like photoshop. The main concern for gaming is the speed of the RAM but as its in a laptop thats not likely to be faster than 1600MHz. In full towers you can now start to see them running as fast as 3000MHz but that is really enthusiast level. 1600MHz is realistically fine/good for gaming.

Couple of videos of 870M gameplay in the laptop I put up. Notice that its on ULTRA settings, so on high settings you would expect probably double those frame rates.

Hi, I was wondering how the laptop suggested would spec up against my 8gb 3ghz AMD phenom with a gtx 260. It died last night and I might get a laptop to replace it.

Do you think this will play ultra on new games for a while?

How many monitors will it support and what connections?

Thanks!

Google the name of the laptop and go to the MSI page for a detailed spec of connections etc

In short it will play games on ultra, for how long I can't say. Certainly on high for some time! Also it supports 3 monitors if I'm not mistaken.

All this info is easy to find with a Google. The MSI Web page tells you everything.

The GT70 will Support upto three external monitors

- VGA Port(s): 1
- HDMI Port(s): 1
- Mini Display Port(s): 1

In terms of gaming you should get around 2.5 to 3 hours gaming depending on your settings.

Also the 1Tb storage drive is 7200RPM not 5400RPM :)
