Peaches Geldoff Dead

If you're that worried about it why don't we ban "death" threads? They always end this way, with people making harsh comments and others massively over reacting to them as if they were closely related to the deceased.

The only comments that seem acceptable are ones along the lines of "RIP", which kind of negates the need for discussion. This is a discussion forum after all, and if you don't want people to criticise the deceased (which is perfectly reasonable) then surely there's not much to discuss?

how fake you are, speak for yourself, and don't generalize me into your warped sense of undiscovered empathy.

you need to shut up and walk away old chap, you are achieving nothing here.

I do say RIP, and I am actually very upset about this, having watched the demise of her mother and now this, also the fact she posted a picture of her and her mum, only the other day.....

I cant even begin to imagine how Sir Bob it with all this,

You must be very upset all day every day, for all the strangers who die daily, often tragically. Unless you reserve your grief for people on the news/social media?

What is the estimate death toll per day? Something like 150k, i would hate to be that bloke. He must spend all day just grieving.

I don't get involved in modding SA, so you'll have to take that up with the SA Dons.

I hope you get my point though...

People gave the argument this is a public forum etc... so we have to be respectful and it will be modded to that effect... IT wouldn't be good for business if OCUK was in the DM tomorrow for inciting the death of him...

I don't know... :(

Just... be nice? This isn't a pub with your tight circle of mates; but a public place. If you wouldn't say it to those directly affected then don't say it. You don't know that people here didn't know her personally anyway.

Be excellent to each other :)

RIP Peaches.

I'm indifferent, people can say RIP as much as they like, that's perfectly reasonable, what i find slightly grotesque is people judging the dead, moreso before the body is even cold.

I guess not even the doctors involved can say conclusively what the cause of death is at this point.

While I wasn't a fan of hers I can see the tragedy in a young family losing a mother and wife, and I can't imagine how distraught her father and siblings are.

RIP.

There's a lot to be discussed regarding the connection we feel when we hear of a celebrity dying, especially why and how we feel a certain way even though the celebrity did not know us at all, and in all honesty, we probably didn't know them as well as we thought either.

It's a one sided relationship that in reality cannot be dismissed, one can't simply argue "did you know that person?", because 99.99% of the time of course they didn't. That doesn't mean by default you should spend your hours grieving about all of the other people on our floating rock that died today who were not famous, it simply means you had no connection to them. The same can't be said about celebrities. Perceived or real connections, you feel that you "knew" them.

Just to possibly expand on this point, I would suggest an overdose of illicit substances would be fairly easy to identify and would have been announced by now.

i would guess they have/want to be absolutely sure due to repercussions
