There's a lot of threads, not just recently, with people asking for holiday tips or specific things to do/places to stay in certain places etc. There's 4 on the first page of GD at the moment.

Would the mods consider a poll for travel/leisure forum including peoples travel blogs? They often aren't posted in as quickly as the usual GD triffe so can drop off the pages quite quickly, probably missing out on some decent input.

Can't be any less used than 'On the Water' anyway ;)

Good idea, I was surprised I couldn't find one earlier when I posted my thread.

Having said that, not sure there'd be a lot of response from the people that replied to me if it was in it's own section, I don't think anybody goes searching for a holiday thread to comment on :p

I vote against it, and I sent Russinating a trust message a few hours ago asking about tips for a recent trip to Malaysia!

The reason I'm against it? People who are interested in travel, reading other peoples travel stories and looking at other peoples pictures are in the minority. However, people who go on holiday and travel are in the majority. Putting all the threads about travel and holiday into one thread will mean they miss out on a huge audience and subsequent advice.

There are plenty of niche travel forums (Travelfish being the one I frequent the most at the minute) which are much better than the few threads on travel we have here.

So, no vote from me. There simply aren't enough threads and/or specialists to warrant such a subforum.

Agreed, only say 5% of posters would actual check a sub forum. Where in GD you'll get far more replies. On the water needs brining back to GD, ask questions and you get no replies.

Do you know any which covers Tanzania.

No way, you have already sucked out more or less intelligent people with brains from GD into sub-forums....

We are just going to be left with Magnolia, Theopany and Mr Relationship fail aka Vidar....

tripadvisor > all other travel forums

Sometimes it's nice to read fellow ocuker travel blogs so maybe a section for that somewhere but general holiday stuff might as well be GD or elsewhere where you can get more info
