Titanfall (Respawn Entertainment's new IP)

I kind of forgot about this game :p

I think I've had my 20 hours of fun from it but I don't think there is enough variety to continue playing. Maybe once the new map pack hits there will be reason to head back to it :D

I may have to give it ago now the new matchmaking is out as I found I was doing very well in almost every game I played and I'm not usually that great at FPS's. May that is why it also became somewhat of a bore as there was a lack of challenge of feel of achievement when I did well.

the match making is pretty dire if im honest. I get matched up with gen 9's on the opposite team, and gen 1's on my team.

DG is right though. It very much depends on your team mates as to how well you do. I have had countless games where I've gotten MVP, yet lost the match because my team is complete crap.

Been there and one that many a time myself.

I will admit though, playing with other OCUK folk, me and them are usually at the top every game besides our loss, getting MVP sure does make me smile XD

EDIT!
hats off to prattler and killswitch, good players :)

Matchmaking is skill based not level based.

They could be Gen9 and utterly terrible, they've just put a lot of hours in. Whereas someone could be Gen2 and an absolute monster of an FPS player.

not the case i found most of time also they took that off cause it wasn't working :D

they are tweaking stuff now to get it better.

other day was best match i was in.

two prestige 10s rank 50
6 and 7 gen and me and mate gen 3 and gen 2

other team had no prestige players all rank 10-20. we played pilot hunter :p

we won 5 games in row avg score was 50-7 to us :D

after that they left lobby whole team. funny thing was as soon as anyone joined to play us they seen the team and left after ten minutes just left.

I'll have a good read through this thread, but I'm looking for some constructive criticism. I have only really played UT2004 online, and only against non-gamer friends, so pretty far from hardcore twitch experienced players. I do game a lot though.

I've played about 4 hours, maybe level 8, and find I die an awful lot. Like, 8-10 times a match to only 0-3 pilot kills per match. Bots go down much easier. I also don't really get more effective in a Titan either.

I find that I think I'm accurate, but the other pilots don't die. When I'm, invariably killed I watch the kill cam to see what the difference is and I can see myself getting shot a couple of times and then dying. Am I just crap, or is it to do with the unlocks? I tend to stick to the default loadouts (first pilot, first titan) just to get a feel for the game. Maybe I should explore that.

Also, I hear zero chat in the game. Is Titanfall just quiet, or perhaps I've missed an audio setting?

just use carbine extended mag iron sights and c4 :D

titan i prefer ogre as it can take more damage and with big punch smashes titans to bit but.... it can be slow compared to other titans.

most people camp on roof or high up so start of game is key to get in and get control of map.most games are won in first four or five minutes.

I don't think it's to do with unlocks bossk, least not on foot... I still find the starting carbine the most effective.

As DG said the best tactic to not get shot in the first place is to either get high or get fast. The design of the levels means that if you're on the ground then you're cramped in and have limited visibility, get on a roof and you can see everything

It's that or learn to parkour like a boss.

As above use carbine and iron sights plus extended mag

Also cloak as you get half way up the map, only takes a handful of pilot kills at the start to get you on the way to the first Titan. I did this and was getting 11/0 in a few consecutive matches

its not hard to do. depends on team you playing.

some matches ill get upto 25 pilot kills some ill get 10 depends on team doesn't it.

Cavallino i record all my gaming every time i play :p whether i upload it or not is whether if i can be bothered or if i think its worth watching. would love to get a ocuk bunch together on titan. only person i played this regular is buffet on here.

Ah cheers DG.

Any chance you could trust me details about how you record and what you settings you use to record? I mean Im just wondering because the detail is so clear, its in a "HD" type resolution and I just wonder how you are able to keep disk space down yet have a long recording....

i use fraps . recordings are huge though :D

just use a separate 2tb hd for recording. id say a whole round at my settings is about 100gig raw maybe. edited and tweaked about 1-2gb when done.
