Ive posted this in the mobile section but I post it here too as more people here have experiences traveling.

I'm traveling around Europe in May and need a good amount of data to check email, browse the net and use Whatsapp. Has anyone had experience with Globalgig, is it worth buying one or is there an alternative I could use?

Just use the Vodafone EuroTraveller or an equivalent. No need to mess around and change numbers. If by travelling you mean cities then you'll have Wi-Fi for the intensive stuff anyway.

Travel, don't check your phone.

I took a laptop when travelling round the world. Perfect, doesn't distract you when you're out and about and you just connect it to WiFi when you can

True but after traveling last year and the amount of times i got lost while out and about. Having data for maps would avoid this.

Bumping this back up. I go in a few weeks, thought I ask again incase any new sims have appeared? Any suggestions?

Depending upon the countries you visit 3 allow you to use your UK minutes, texts and a limited amount of data free. They don't cover the countries I visit regularly so I use the Vodafone Euro traveller as mentioned above.

While this is bumped, i'm heading to the US in July and Orange charge a shedload for data usage. Anything to recommend for a sim/data package?

USA is included in 3's at home plans or whatever it's called. This allows you to use your allowances in a number of countries which currently includes USA.

I was jumping for joy when I heard this a couple of months ago!, I'm off to 'merica in June and still wanted to be contactable by my family (Mum's not well etc..) and I can still use my All-You-Can-Eat data! :D... Just have to remember not too call anyone IN america as that will get an international charge!!
