I love the engineering which go's into high end turntables but the Baasner will have you saying "WTF" as looking at pic below i can't work out what all them bits do

Just LOL at its complexity.
I'm guessing some will be down to what appears to be a linear tracking arm, which often use air based suspension.

Have to say I'd rather keep it somewhat more simple and have been very impressed by the Avid range of decks. Their acutus sounds awesome.

That annoys me. Seriously I'm all for paying stupid amounts of money for convenience but not for diminishing returns. No self respecting millionaire would taint their amazing aesthetically pleasing abode with this monster of plexiglass and acryllic no matter how silent the gaps between tracks on their records were!

Still think there's beauty in it's madness and over the years maybe the ideas behind it's design will be refined and finds it's way into other designs

Plus it's great that the person or people behind the design got up one morning and thought out of the box and then kicked it out the window

Reading some of the stuff from the Munich show I think this might actually be a one-off DIY project rather than a commercial proposition. As such, a value and aesthetics go right out of the window. It's one person's turntable wet dream.

Personally I think it looks like it's trying too hard, if that makes sense. It's complication in place of sound engineering design. From an aesthetic point of view I prefer something with cleaner lines. It would be interesting to hear it though.
