Laser Tattoo Removal

I have a crap tattoo on my leg.. Which i had done in the early 90's.. It's pretty embarrassing, now that I'm 42, and live in a climate where i'm constantly in shorts.

Honestly kids, you may think getting a tattoo is cool and a good idea, but in 20 or 30yrs, you'll of grown really sick of it, it'll look crap, cos fashion changes, and well... its just something you'll regret... trust me on that one !

I am 46, and have just had another 2 done, its not the Tattoo you end up hating, its the stupid design decision you made in the 90's

fashion changes yes agreed, just don't be 'in' fashion at the mstart, that way it cant go out of fashion ever...

Absolutely this!!

I'm 38 now, and just finishing off a full sleeve (England themed - St George with dragons, and 3 big portrait lions all in different styles). On the other arm I've recently had a cover up of some Kanji I had done when in my late teens - it was never embarassing, but looked tiny and incomplete - I now have a custom piece there which I'm very happy with.

Just think things through, then when you think you've "thought it to death", take another few weeks to think it through some more. Be original, and also think practical - nothing you can't cover up if required for interview/job etc.

My youngest daughter is the only one of my kids who thinks I now have too many, and she always asks what they'll be like when I get old. As I told her "when I get old do I want to be rocking on a chair in a corner, stinking of ****, or grow a beard, listen to heavy/rock music, and hanging out with my mrs and other bearded tattooed metal-heads?".

Don't think I'll ever regret the tattoo work I'm getting done now, and if others don't like it, who cares, as long as I do.

Appreciate threads like this though, it's interesting to hear about the process, cost, and experiences, so thanks!!

All tattoos should look like this and then there'd be no need for laser removal :folds arms:

Well, went for the laser this morning. IT RUDDY WELL HURT!!!!! Phew, worst pain ever for me, except when i got married!

It felt like someone was whipping my arms really hard! Excruciating pain! Next session is in 6 weeks time. Here are 4 pics:

Pics make them a little lighter than they actually are at this stage.

As you can see, quite red and swollen. Got to leave them for 6 weeks now for nature to do its work and suck out some of the ink!!

I will need 6 weeks to prepare for the pain as it was really really intense!

Glad I made really good decisions about what tattoos I got like my Pokemon and Hello Kitty tattoos.

The place I go does laser for £40 (I think) a sesh but that's in Egham.

Absolutely this.

If you go off & pick something with little thought & only consider short term fashion they you are likely to hate it in time.

But, if you put in the effort & try to pick something personal - find a skilled artist & select something timeless you are less likely to want it removed.

Ill tell you what will be a money maker in 5-10 years, ear plastic surgery after all the tards who decided to add a glory hole to their ears have had enough of having a phallus ring for an ear lobe.

To the op, keep it up it'll be worth it

:D i watched a programme the other day on either bbc or e4, think it was called bodyshock something. there was a guy on there who realised potential employers decided he didn't look like the sort of person they want to hire. mainly because of his massive ear holes.

edit: missed out a sentance

I dont think i will see a complete 100% removal of those tats but i would be happy with them a lot lighter! Almost visible would be fine.

Been told it should prove successful but i wont build up my hopes.

Tats are itching like mad now! Been told that wont last long and keep hydrated.

I will take some more pics in a few weeks to show any progress (or not) and then again in 6 weeks after my 3rd treatment.

Blimey, ages since i posted in my thread.

Well, i have not been back for over a year or so, mainly because of Pain!! lol and skin is too tanned they said. I am seriously thinking of returning for a couple of more sessions in the winter.

You know, even though i have not been back and i have only had 2 sessions, my tats have faded quite a lot!! I am amazed. Just goes to show that once broken down with the laser it then starts the process of removing the ink.

I will try to post some pics soon.

Just cover it up with a bigger tattoo.

No, i dont want the tats there. I want 'skin' back! 2 are on my wrists you see.

Sorry about the original pics not showing! I will see if i still have them saved somewhere to show the difference.

Laser removal is REALLY PAINFUL!

Laser removal is painful, but its not as bad as getting a tattoo in my opinion. I've been going through the process of having a tribal half sleeve with chest and back panels lasered off for the last year. While it does hurt like hell - imagine being burnt by chip fat over and over, you're done in 10 minutes and out of there. If you can sit through a tattoo it should be pretty easy to sit through 10 minutes of laser.

I'm a massive pussy by the way, I have the lowest pain threshold of any male ever to exist!
