Quite a long time ago I started following Supercarscene on Twitter. After a while I got bored of the videos because all they did was chase rich people around in London, which was of no interest to me. I remember reading the guys profile saying "I will have my own supercar before turning 25". My exact thoughts were "if this guy thinks he's going to earn enough money for a Lamborghini by putting videos on youtube then he's in for a surprise.

Seems like I was very wrong!

Although from reading further he still lives at home with his parents and intends to spend most of his cash modifying his R8. Possibly a foolish mistake depending where your priorities lie.

However I still don't get the whole supercar spotting "scene". I find it sycophantic and pretty boring to be honest.

Did Shmee make his money purely through YouTube revenue?
Or did he have money from his parents first?

there's some silly money in youtube to be fair if you can get the people to watch.

love the random stats though...
In total, there are currently 685 videos on his YouTube page, totalling 34 hours. Around 50 million minutes have been viewed - the equivalent of 95 years.

lol ok? thanks DM for that.....

why haven't millions watched my terrible bf4 montage so I can afford a super car deposit :( or my cat walking on pitch during a liverpool game to the theme of the pink panther!!! #imjustjelly :(

Article says he's paid the deposit on the car and paying installments to cover the rest.
Most people on the forum could probably do the same, especially if he's still living with his parents.

Also - he's not exactly earning that much from this either.
The budding businessman pulls in YouTube revenues of between £1,500 and £1,750 a month, which covers repayments on the Audi, insurance, tax, fuel and general running costs.

Also, Check out Chris Harris - he's a motoring journalist with a huge YouTube and Pistonheads following and drives a Ferrari FF, Ferrari 512 and a Range Rover Sport - along with some other cars.

Well done to him but... it's scraping the barrel as far as 'supercar' goes to be fair.

I'd have rather bought a nice new corvette, or at least the V10 if it had to be an R8.

His done well and seems chuffed with his car, so fair play to him for living his dream, but those R8's are not anything special so not that expensive, you can pick them up from 35k for V8, i rather invest in more properties!

ah yes, standard internet response from someone who hasnt driven any of the cars they are referring to

in response to the op.

didnt shmees video of the lambo crash in london net like 6million views. i bet that earned him a few grand or so.

He rakes in that much a month and opts to spend on payments for the car.... Lol.

I find this bonkers. Am I bonkers for thinking this is bonkers?

What will he do when people become bored of watching his vids. I'd be saving that money

I've driven the V10 R8 once (the local takeaway owner has one) I have also owned a C5 z06, older I know but I preferred it over the R8, the R8 had no low down grunt compared to the corvette.

Could be just me that like torque :D - and I didn't get to rag the R8 as it wasn't mine

Nice car, he's worked for it.

It's not like he started a youtube channel and within a few months got the subscribers, he's been going for a quite a few years.
