Good podcasts anyone?

I listen to these on a weekly basis.

Most are a good hour, with the exception of Giant Bomb, which can be up to 3hrs at a time  I find them decent enough for a 1hr commute, and they do raise a few chuckles as well as being interesting too.
  • The Comedy Button
  • Rooster Teeth
  • Giant Bombcast
  • BBC 5L - Mark Kermode & Simon Mayo's Film Reviews
  • Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project (that guy from Mythbusters)
  • The Steve Austin Show (Unleashed)

I used to like rooster teeth podcast myself until they went all video with it, now I find it boring, still listen to the old ones though XD

Comedian Bill Burr has a Monday morning Podcast:

www.billburr.com/podcast‎

Website looks like it's down at the moment.

He's been doing this for years. For anyone that doesn't know, this is 'Kuby' from Breaking bad.
His stand-up is hilarious.
He covers current news, sports, jokes and advice emails from listeners.

+1 on this.

Bill Burr is freaking hilarious. His stand ups are amazing his podcasts are really good. Haven't listened to that many yet but certainly worth checking out

All my regulars have already been mentioned

1. Empire (films)
2. BBC4 Friday night comedy podcast
3. Stuff you should know
4. BBC 5 live Kermode and Mayo.

Oh god I hate the Empire one.
It's talking about inane and unfunny stuff for the majority of the episode and 10 minutes talking about the actual films.

Much prefer Kermode and Mayo

Fatman on Batman is Kevin Smith talking about his love of Batman. He's a bit of a dick but it's still a nice listen.

I have been listening to Kevin Smith stuff for years.. The last thing I would say is that he is a dick. He is a very earnest person that loves what he does and does a lot of very very entertaining podcasts.

Have they gone all video, now? I had wondered why it hadn't been updated in a while :o:D

Shame. I love the "Let's play" or the "Things to do in.." series, but I refuse to download video podcasts as I can't find the time to watch them.

He is definitely passionate, there is no denying that, and it's admirable. However, there have been complaints about his work before and whenever it gets bought up he gets ultra defensive and everyone else is wrong not him.

A good example is when he wrote The Widening Gyre. A lot of fans didn't like this scene involving Batman talking about pooping himself.
He then retorted in one of his podcasts essentially saying how he was right in what he did and others were wrong.

He's a person that cannot take criticism at all.
I still like some of his work, but I don't like him as a person

Really? I have often heard him taking criticism and quite often he embraces it. Look at Jersey Girl, Cop out and more. Quite often get utterly slated but he even makes fun of those himself.

I can completely see his issue with the widening gyre he is the writer and has been given the creative control over a project/character and there will always be people that don't like that or people that will not accept a creative change to a character/story away from canon. While I also understand that batman (apparently peeing himself) was out of character and would never have been in a mainstream comic it does bring to light a certain honesty and vulnerability about the character that is never shown.

Just my opinion of course.

most of my regular podcasts have already been mentioned. but current downloads are

Giant Bombcast
This is only A test
Mark Kermode & Simon Mayo podcast
The Empire Film podcast
Windows Weekly
Garnett on games (now that Weekend Confirmed has ended)

Love Podcasts, I try the odd new one now and then but I will have to get on some of the recommendations here.

A few dance music ones; Hardwell, Armin Van Burren, Tiesto and Avicii.

Stuff from Radio 4; Desert Island Disc's (+ Archive podcast), the Infinite Monkey Cage (Brian Cox and Robin Ince plus great guests do Science).

A heap of critical care and emergency medicine ones; SMACC, EMCrit, RAGE Podcast, ICN Podcast and ED ECMO, little niche but worth a listen if you in the field.

The ones i listen to most regularly are:

Football weekly / football weekly extra (guardian football podcast presented by james richardson)

In our time - Melvyn Bragg BBC. It has quite ranging topics from, science, history religion culture etc so I will occasionally skip some that dont appeal.
The current season:

I download the Daily bacon when there are guests i'm interested in. I like the variety and in particular the science sections.

Also the giantbombcast but it takes a few to get into and appreciate.

I can't recommend Risk! highly enough - its real people telling true stories, they range from tragic to hilarious but always poignant and interesting - http://risk-show.com/

I also love BBC comedy of the week, friday night comedy podcast, infinite monkey cage and most of the smodcasts (Kevin Smith & friends)

Recently started listening to Penn Jillette's (Penn & Teller) Penn's Sunday School which i'm quite enjoying :)
