What wireless headset should I buy for Skype?

I use Skype a lot working from home, and my wife has suggested I buy a wireless headset with a microphone, as the camera/mic I'm currently using gives an unnatural sound on the other end. The camera is unused most of the time.

Obviously I don't need 7:1 surround sound, or amazing sound quality, just good voice frequency response, and, I suppose, comfort, as I am on the phone a lot. Therefore battery life might be a consideration too.

Would anyone have any recommendations?

Yes, forgo the wireless idea. You'll be able to get much better for cheaper that way, and you wont have to worry about your battery running out mid-call.

Thanks Cookeh. I had been looking at the Plantronics 995, but they have got mixed reviews, although I'm not surprised at that price point.

Are there any headsets that you would recommend?

I would avoid any 'gaming' headset entirely and go for a set of headphones and a stand-alone mic. What kind of budget do you have?

Up to about £100 I suppose. I'm currently using the mic (which is, apparently, the problem) incorporated in my HD camera. Would a standalone mic be the way to go?

I'm perfectly happy with the sound my end (coming from the speakers) but my wife, and my key client, are complaining of dodgy sound their end.

Skull Candy Aviator 2.0 £60 Excellent sounding with a removable cable.

Foxtex T50RP + Boom Pro Mic would cost you about £110 but it's a durable setup with good quality.

If that's the case you may not need a headset at all, but to instead just invest in a decent desktop mic. A cheaper option would just be Logitech's USB Desktop microphone (or one of the many equivalent options on the rainforest site), or a more expensive and very well reviewed option would be something like the Blue Microphone range - the Yeti or Snowball for example.
