Hi

I have a ref. r9 290 which has been running great so far.
But the noise and heat are becoming an issue for me so
I am planning to replace the horrible stock cooler.
As far as I can see there are only 4 options :

Gelid Icy vision 2
Artic accelero
Prolimatech MK-26
Alpenföhn Peter 2

The gelid icy vision is not available where I live so the shippingcost would put it in around 60 euro which I think is too much.
The artic accelero is around 65 euro where I live, but it is constantly out of stock. For both the artic and gelid I am not a big fan of the fans and the heat sinks that come with the cooler but I might be wrong?

The MK - 26 and Peter 2 are 85 euro and 70 euro incl. 2 quality fans and they both perform similar, but I am worried about the weight of the cooler in both cases.

Any recommendations?
I plan to overclock the Card once I get a better cooler.

Cheers from Denmark

I can't speak for the 290 version, but the Accelero on my 7970 was exceptional. Kept the core very, very cool and even at 100% it was probably the equivalent of the stock cooler at about 30-40%.

The only concern I had, was that the VRM heatsinks didn't seem all that great. But you could always buy a set of additional ram and vrm heatsinks.

I'm sure there will be plenty of review online for aftermarket cooling for the 290, given how poor the stock cooler was.
