worth a shot which is the better one do you think?
It shut down last year, largely because it was a massive failure.
Damn, i remember giving it a try with the squid herder thought it was actually decent but after having kids hardly any time for any mmos lol
TERA is completely free to play so you could give that a go, best combat in an MMO currently. Think it's lacking on content though but there are raids and other end game stuff. I'd rather have a third of the content of other MMOs with combat that is actually meaningful.

Really? o.O I'm level 27 and don't get a loading screen for hours at a time when I'm leveling. Loading screens aren't even that long.

Well, currently it's in Beta but they are in talks with SOE about bringing it to PS4. They are also working on a English client for PC but they haven't picked anyone yet.
If you still really want to play it, then you can use proxy/vpn to register for beta, account name and play it.
There should be some guides slowly starting up that translate menus and stuff.
I recommend TERA too, lots of my friends play it.

THIS! really underrated mmo, updates are a bit slow and its a bit buggy, but there's loads of content as it is. Also no sub and there's no pay to win items in the store. first mmo ive gotten into since final fantasy xi, i tried final fantasy xiv, but all the impossible to lose solo instances got on my nerves.

I've played WOW and GW2 (still playing GW2) but it's just so stagnant now. Looking for something that looks more involved and graphically at the next level. Like the look of combat in this so much and the visuals are truly stunning. This moves top of my radar along with a few other games this year. Are you playing this?

I remember they went through a phase of closing servers but I didn't expect them to fully shut.
I played Warhammer in the closed BETA and I remember how good and refreshing it felt although it was full of bugs. It had such potential, I'm not really sure where it went wrong.

They are working on a 40k MMO now, it's changed name a few times now. It's pretty much Space Marine as a MMO.

If I remember rightly the first point which turned people off was bottle necking people into getting some form of resist gear to do the PvE content, and without the resists gear you couldn't progress, which turned people away.
Next was that sieges were completely unbalanced and impossible to break.
Next was that sieges were a total lagfest and unoptimised mess of a game, with constant disconnects and only a few ever getting chests so they couldn't gear up.
Next was whitelions at launch, having a massively OP move called fetch, I am sure people remember that. I was actually a whitelion at launch and the first level 60 on my server, and that move made people cry on the forums.
This was at launch, so I have no doubts they fixed all of the above, but the point is that these types of issues turned people away massively at the start of the game, so the population dwindled even 2-3 months after launch and has now died a slow painful death. The only unique things about this game were completely broken.

I'm holding off playing any mmo games until Wildstar comes out, preordered it yesterday and can't wait In January I booked two weeks off at the start of June so I wouldn't lose any holiday from work, then a month or two later they announced it launches the day after my two week holiday starts

It's only on CBT2 from what I understand and therefore to get in the beta you would have to have a KSSN I would wager.

Just redownloading Tera to have another swing at it myself.
Game looks amazing when playing, as others have said lacks a bit of content though but apart from that its awesome.
