Yes the face book thing is a bit of a bind to be honest but they must have some sort of thing going with them as likes/votes/comments etc all seem to go into the over all score?

Some bands have more votes than others but are lower in the poll?

The house share is what they are looking into at the moment so all good for everyone involved :D

Voted, They could do with a bit more bass in general but many bands sound entirely different live, I like the lyrics and wish them the best of luck. Having followed a local band here go from playing for £5 at the local town music night to running the event, having recorded a their first CD and being featured on BBC radio I know how much any break whatsoever can mean to them. I wish I had any kind of musical talent as personally I would love the rest it.

I've seen some amazing unknown bands over the last few years and it's a shame that some people are not recognised for talent but more of a marketing exercise! But that's the world we live in today.

And the world we live in clearly doesn't value 'marketing' as a profession, according to your comment. Maybe they should market themselves better then, if 'that's the world we live in.'?

Err no not really sir? What I mean is that talent doesn't seem count for as much as it did. Might not have worded it correctly (I am a docker after all) but I hope most people understood what I was getting at.

Marketing teams can do wonders with some of the detritus that's out there today, so hat's off to them for that. :D

I really am sorry if I offended you in any way? That wasn't what I was aiming for at all :(

The thing is that all 400 bands will be doing exactly the same so it makes no difference at all.
Last year there was a 'Vote for your favourite band who play at this pub' contest and we got around 120 but one band got around 400. When I went to see them around 20 people had turned up.
Because I knew it was a farce I kept posting that people should only vote for us if they were willing to watch us.

Many people find it easy to 'blame' good marketing for the success of a perceived poor product. Very few recognise the talent and skills that made it possible. Marketing is sometimes praised for the success of a popular product but often vilified for a successful product that is not popular. If they're talking about the latter then the target audience was undoubtedly tightly focussed ;)

network economy, its all about the hype. You are right but its also about virtual tourism I guess, whatever pays the advertising
 
Sod off, if you want them to move out just kick them out on their arse.

Band isn't really at the level of talent required by a major UK festival neither, I'd tell them to keep working at it - it's a beautiful thing to do. But don't get complacent til you're there.
