okay so heres the spec of what i may or may not get my hands on soon its free so i'm not being ripped off if its crap.

also i am aware of the low ram ill upgrade that at some point just what could i run gamewise with this?? thanks guys

Asus Motherboard
AMD 64 2600 Processor
2 x 512 MB DDR Cosair Memory (OLD DDR1 Type)
2 x Nvidia Geforce XFX 7600 GT (These were running in SLI)
PSU
 
That is **** poor, no wonder it is free..

That's not even a comfortable home/office computer to use now even for browsing.

What is your current PC spec? (if you have one)
 
its a big upgrade to my fujitsu siemens amilo pro v2040, (pile of crap laptop) with no screen so why not get a tower to go with my monitor. its waaay better than what i have now
 
oooh civilisation never even crossed my mind thanks, also just thought if anything what would be good upgrade points for this board as in how far could i go with upgrades yet again suggestions, obviously link me to the overclockers store :D thanks again guys for being helpfull those that are
 
imo, nothing that would be worth the money you sink into "upgrading"'
and re: DoW2, possibly at its lowest settings at 1024x768
 
Bump it up 2/4GB of RAM and it won't be all that bad for general usage.

You're certainly going to struggle with any modern games at reasonable settings mind.
 
im not too fussed with more recent games i just wanted to get an idea of what i could run and what i could upgrade. not having a go but i already mentioned the ram issue at the start :P jus' sayin'
 
no point buying ddr1 ram tbh, just stick to what it already has.
as i said earlier, any money you spend on this rig is effectively written off
 
okay so i got it and im getting a few blue screens here and there anybody know anything i can send the .dmp files for all to look at if you like as i suppose they'd help solve my problems

Have you tried googling the error codes?
 
hats this we?? dacads this is your first post in here? i was well aware of the problems of second hand old hardware i just want to fix it so i have something better than my old laptop so again i ask can anyone help me out with my .dmp files as GOOGLING the error codes brings up a lot of things that may or may not help i',m not taking the risk of screwing the comp up anymore than it is already any HELP would be appreciated
