My friend has a year old one and loves it,pulls really well in all gears for a 1.6 and gets about 60 to 65 to a gallon,he has just traded it in for a fiesta st3 in May,he wants a penis exstencion and wants the st but will regret getting rid of the focus.

Looks really nice, wouldn't fancy keeping it clean though. :p

Tell me about it, I washed mine the Sunday before the Sahara sands hit us, and it just looked a state the morning after. The worst bit is the boot lip, all the water runs down from the top and settles there, then dries and leaves the washed down dirt.

Does look nice when just cleaned though.

Any reason for getting a new one?
Surely you could've saved yourself a fortune by getting a very lightly used example?

I have a zetec 1.6 tdci 12 plate mk2.5. I like mine looks a bit better with the appearance pack rather than the standard but yours goes one better . I get 50 mpg average and that's trips of 660 mile round trip to reading every week hoofing it so if you took it steady you might be able to get more. The inside is pretty easy going but functional, the ford Bluetooth sync thingy is excellent and easy to set up. Had mine a year and had no problems with it so far (35k) as I shouldn't either.

Had a Eco-boost one of these as a hire car a few weekends ago (work thing, long story). It looked the same as this trim/kit wise anyway.

Didn't hate it, went well and cornered nicely. Quite enjoyed driving it :)

Looks nice in white too.

Just make sure it has the 18" wheel upgrade and privacy glass. The basic spec wheels and non privacy ones look crap IMHO. (The one above has the wheel upgrade).

Would I buy it new? Nope. They are circa 20K new and you can pick them up around 4 months old for £15K with a couple of thousand on the clock.

Looks like they're about 15.5k from the brokers with the additions suggested above, so if the op haggled hard enough to get to that level then I'd say fair enough for buying it new

4.2% Apr too by looks of things, not bad coupled with a £5k discount - according to drivethedeal when the bigger wheels, privacy glass and cruise are added

Nothing to do with the car spec or price but yes. The new shape Focus looks better in White or Red. Red ST is dreamy :)

Finance?

When I was looking at new cars the depreciation on these made finance OMG expensive. You could get Mercedes and BMWs for less.

Unless you bought it outright and plan to own it for 10 years, they make no sense financially.

True, trade in on a 2 year old one with say 35k miles is about 9 grand - would think they will level out a bit after that point though, too many of the old model still around for now

Just make sure it has the 18" wheel upgrade and privacy glass.

The Ford privacy glass is horrendous - I rented a Mondeo Titanium X a few weeks ago with privacy glass and it was more gangster tint than privacy glass. The rear cabin was dark and dingy and you couldn't see in at all from the outside. Horrible.
