just ordered one of these.. yes its a ford!

The ecoboost engine is good, but not sure if you mean the 150ps or the 180ps. Mine was a remapped 150 and I had a lot of fun in that. The rear tints on mine looked no different to those on my current A3, oh and the Focus, if you pay a monthly service plan, then mine was £10 a month more expensive than the one for my A3. As for them being £20k, no one pays that amount, if a dealership can't match a internet brokers price then walk away as they go for about £16.5k for a Zetec S, 1.6 diesel with privacy glass, as the zetec's do not have the appearance pack, in white and with the 18" wheels, which are so easy to clean...

Which are also horrible. I kinda get a light smoke perhaps but many new cars now have literally black rear windows. I don't get it, it ruins the interior ambience and makes the car look daft.

I get the appeal of privacy glass but why is pitch black the new 'thing'? Is it now a must-have when ordering a white Audi A3 1.0 TDIe 50bhp S-Line Black Edition with Amplified Black Pack or something? :p

I would just go for the 180 but they seem rare, there seems to be a lot more of the 150 version about and I don't yet know how to tell them apart

I'm seriously considering looking into a used one as I'm sick of messing around with old Jap cars but no idea how to finance it at present and what options are available on a car worth so much, never spent more that £7500 on a car in my life and even then I flapped and sold it at the first opportunity to get my money back

Just got one of these for her indoors.... Blue, 1.6 tdci Nav with fancy self parking system, sensors back and front, DAB etc. Motorpoint, UK Car (warranty etc checked with Ford) 3500 miles on clock, 4 months old - £12K.

So far it is good, pretty nippy, averaging 48 about town, 55-60 on motorway.

To you maybe but I wouldn't have the privacy glass any other way, that's why they are called that so no-one can see in whereas with light smoke they would be able to....

Probably thinking its the exact same engine as first came out circa ten years ago chucking turbos right left and centre ( in assuming its not, without really knowing any better!)

Why not buy a transit van, then nobody can see in? Do you carry heads of state in the back or something? :p

Got a 1.6TDCi Econetic 2013 Focus, got it with 15 delivery miles in June last year. Done 28950 now and its not missed a beat. Had 2 services last one a full oil and break change at 25k. Average around 54MPG and get around 610 miles on a fill up. No way near the claimed but I dont drive in an eco manner and have a bit of a heavy right foot so its not too bad.

Lovely car to drive, steering and clutch nice and light which is excellent when your driving for a living, very refined inside and rides excellent. Engine is very quite compared to the usual clatter type diesel noise other make. No rattles or annoying noises yet. Has a nice solid feel when you sit inside its no BMW but the plastics feel good. Seats are excellent and supportive and drives very good.

Just had a Astra on a 13 plate SRi 160 2.0 CDTi and I am glad to be back in mine. Always like the look of them but totally different to the Focus in every way. Yes has more power but thats it, every possible way the Focus beats it.

Enjoy because there cracking cars :)

Any reason for getting a new one?
Surely you could've saved yourself a fortune by getting a very lightly used example?

I am getting it on a 2 year lease so that's the reason, I've messed up with buying in the past and loosing money with cars so decided just to go through my own business this time and lease
looking forward to it :D

You realise you still 'lose money' with a lease, right? Plus by doing it through your business you will have to pay company car tax.

I know 1.6 Tdci engines are quite well known for Turbo failure, same in their respective PSA applications. Carbonised oil buildup kills them in the long term, though I don't know if this current engine is the same, I would assume its had multiple revisions. But in the past they have been really rather unreliable.

But if you are under warranty then happy days.

Well yeah of course but there is so many advantages of a lease 2 years I hand it back and get another brand new car ,

But you are just renting - the money has nothing to show for it, it just vanishes and in return you can use the car. Now there are obviously merits to this and situations where it works well but picking a lease - typically the most expensive way to have a car - because you are fed up of 'losing money' seems somewhat counter productive.
