If you requested the ban, why didn't you email an admin to get it unbanned? :o:p

Yup, what happened to me too just after I started using the forums again after being away for a few years. Not the nicest welcome, although I understand why now but a warning would have done the same job as I genuinely didn't know.

Glad I'm not the only one lol. Burnsy explained it to me in this thread and to be honest I'm ok with it all now. I'm on lots of different internet forums and they all have different boundaries regarding what is acceptable. Sometimes you just post without thinking, or at least I have done. But, you live you learn. :p
 
I got one for linking to something that contained a swear word. I even said that the linked article has a sweary in it and if you clicked it to do so at your "own risk" and still got a ban so work that one out.

That like putting landmines in your front garden with a sign clearly saying there are landmines. You're still not allowed to do it no matter how much you try and shift the liability ;)

They went on to use Citylink, found out they were terrible, had a dreadful time with them and stopping using them after a very short amount of time.

I have had two bans. One this week. Both times for RTMing a post and both times I got banned for the actions of the poster. This weeks one was quickly sorted out, the first one took me some time as the Mod in question couldn't see his error and I had to get another Don to help him :D

He did apologise nicely though and I think I'm done RTMing posts :D
