Power supply for this set?

Hello im planning to buy this parts soon but im still thinking what power supply would be good for it. ?

graphics : MSI GeForce GTX 780Ti Gaming Edition 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics

cpu : Intel 4930K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor - Retail (BX80633I74930K)

motherboard : ASRock X79 Extreme4 Intel X79 (Socket 2011) DDR3 Motherboard

ram : Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R)

cpu cooler : Corsair Hydro H105 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060016-WW )

hdd : Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD

hdd ssd : Kingston 60GB SSDNow V300 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 3 2.5" (7mm height) Solid State Hard Drive - (SV300S37A/60G)

To be fair, he doesn't need that much wattage with only one gfx card.

Better safe than sorry..there's better choices than a CX range Corsair for powering high end components..

850W would allow room for another 780TI in future and nice leeway for overclocking

Well true, but the OP didn't mention going SLI. I guess he needs to think about how much he wants to spend. I have an 850W Gold PSU and it's way overkill for my rig right now, but I'll be upgrading soon so it might come in handy. If he's on a budget and has no plans for SLI, he should really go for a quality lower wattage supply. And that Corsair is a decent unit BTW.
 
You might want to go for a different ssd. The 60GB Kingston V300 is slow. I just put one in the wifes new pc and it get's nowhere near the advertised specs. This is because Kingston uses ATTO as a benchmark which uses fully uncompressed data. When you use a benchmark that uses compressed data (more like day to day usage) the scores are much, much lower. The 120GB version is the same. Have a read of this thread.

There are far better drives available and you can get 120gb drives for £50 if you look around.
 
Im planning to add next gtx and next 16gb of ram in future. By future i mean next year or two. So for now one i will take that corsair with will fit that build. Thanks.

About ssd, i need just 30,60 gb for windows and some main programs. (even only windows). If u say its benchmarks are bad with one do u suggest?

If there is a real difference in it i will swap it. Can put some extra pounds in if its worth.

I would avoid that corsair if you want 850 watts for future SLI as above there are better 850 watt psus around.

The SSD I would select is because I find myself needing to manage my SSD too much after a while if I haven't configured the file directories correctly.

I've changes to that ssd thanks.

I want to put 600W for now on and in next year or two (belongs on money) if u would able to afford next graphics and ram i would change it to 850W. But im not sure when i would change it.

About ram, i would like to get 16 2x8GB now and then add next 16 2x8GB. To have it working i need to buy quad 32GB on start? Buying quad 4x4GB would not have sense to change them ;/.
 
You can run with 2 x 8GB Ram, but you will only get dual channel mode rather than quad channel. I am also not sure how fussy LGA2011 is with regards to Ram. You could have issues adding 2 more sticks later (Blue screens etc), or you might not. I would definitely try and get exactly the same Ram if adding more later on though just to be on the safe side.


If you tell us what the pc is being used for we might be able to spec you something better.

As a very rough guide I would say 550W/650W for a single gpu setup, and 850W+ for dual cards.

The link below gives you a bit of an idea, although they do over compensate as every system is different (Cpu, Hdd's, Fans etc)

It's for 3ds max, photoshop, zbrush since im using 4 programs at one time when im working so i need ram.

But normaly when i had free time its used for gaming.

Im not planning to add next graphic so fast so 1 600W power supply would be great.

My only problem is ram now. I dont know what diffrence will be in 16/32. My first plan was to buy 16 then add 16. But for now on it could be better to get this 32 at start.

I will need to look at my budget again.
