Inb4 issues regarding: 1) Throttling. 2) black screens. 3) Loud because case is a vacuum.

Wasn't aware the Tri-X suffered throttling in single card configuration? Always thought that was more for stock cooled cards kept with a quiet fan profile. As for black screens, that's luck of the draw, a lot of us haven't suffered a single one unless overclocking too far. No idea what you mean by point 3. (edited this bit out after ree-reading as it came across a bit aggressive, which wasn't really my intention)

OP - that will be an awesome upgrade and if you're not grinning like a Cheshire cat for the first few days, you've got no soul! Enjoy the card, it'll be awesome. :)

They don't. I think he's on about a few posters that will come in to the thread and claim every 290/x have these issues and he should have stuck with Nvidia.

Very nice card and a very nice upgrade. Enjoy.

Ah, that makes sense. Read it differently and got the wrong end of the stick completely. Apologies Ranger, I was being an idiot, and thanks for the clarification TRD. :)

Nahhh I like the look of the card. Have been an Nvidia fan for years and finally started to look at the product rather than the name.

It took you years to look at specs and objective facts over names and hype?

Yep, just went with the flow. You know, its easy just to get something because everyone else says so, without looking at facts and figures. Im a bit wiser now days.

1 of the best performing cards and quite possibly the best looking card on the market. The new Asus dog cards given it a run for its money, but I think the tri-x has the edge.
