Hi there need youre opinion on this. I have found a honda civic type s gt. 1.8 58 plate 50k miles full honda shistory and mot till november with type r alloys for 6k is this a good deal or just normal. Thanks

Sounds about right - I paid £7k for a 58 plate 72k type R with one owner and full Honda history. Would expect the 1.8 to be at least £1k cheaper.

BTW if you end up buying it the first thing you'll want to do is sell the 18" alloys and put the 17's on (look the exact same) - will improve the ride quality.

Not a lot to go wrong with the 1.8 tbh

Check for suspension knocks and creaks, try and make sure it has as few interior rattles as possible as they can be a nightmare to find and will drive you mad.

Check the roof at the seal for corrosion. Honda will usually repair under warranty ( mine is away now) but you're better off with one that's already sorted or at least agreement to sort in place.

Check the tape at the b pillars, water can get trapped and cause corrosion there too.

The 6th type R service is a £500 job, not sure if the 1.8 is the same but worth checking in and factoring in if its not been done yet.

Hi just another qn the seller is reluctant to give me v5 number as he says i could be anybody? is that normal?plus can someone recomend me somewhere to get a hpi check from

I can understand why the seller might be reluctant to give you the V5 number over the phone, but other than checking the MOT history or getting a replacement certificate I'm not sure what anyone could actually do with it.

I presume he'd be happy to let you see the documents if you went to view the car? If not, that's definitely dodgy.

Maybe ask for the MOT certificate number instead?
