The Amazing Spiderman 2

Just seen it, really enjoyed it but a bit long in some places. Stayed till the end, and the marvel thing had absolutely nothing to do with Spiderman so not sure there?!

That's quite a claim and I hope I think so as it'll make this film awesome. Spiderman 2 is my favourite superhero film.
 
I liked the first but this was much much better.

Electro is a brilliant villain, the set pieces and fight scenes with him are fabulous and even Dane Dehaan is in good form.

Bad Bits: The part with the planes colliding is a load of crap and nobody cares, it suffers from being the "middle child" - no real beginning or end, and there are plot-holes-a-plenty.

This isn't enough to ruin it for me though. Worth it alone for the scenes with Electro in Times Square and the Oscorp Electric Field.

Mine too. I think it perfectly captures the magic of comics without going too 'realistic' or too dark. I have a hard time believing anything other than an animated feature film can match it but we'll see. I really liked what I've see of the reboot so far but beating Spider-man 2 is a near impossible task imho but it'd be nice to be wrong though.
 
I think S2 is still really good but the first wasn't ever that good. It has the 'glow' of all origin story films but the end was poor and the Green Goblin just wasn't that good.
 
Just went to see this, I enjoyed.

Jamie Foxx played it well, although he seemed ridiculously overpowered once he could teleport.

Was shocked at the graphic nature of the Gwen ending :(
 
Just saw it. Epic. Absolutely epic.

On phone so will give proper review tomorrow, but easily the best Spidey film made.
 
"meh" pretty much sums it up for me, Electro seemed well overpowered and too easily beat - the goblin side story felt messy and rushed - the Rhino scene was beyond stupid and not needed - the "ending" was also pretty obvious but was a bit more moving then expected.

Overall, better then the first - better then previous trilogy but up against the other comic book films barely a blip on the radar.

Agree with the first paragraph, not with the second.
I still think that the previous version is better (apart from 3)
I was bored for most of this tbh
 
I'm surprised. I absolutely loved it, almost as much as Spider-Man 2.
I was weirdly surprised by Gwen's death. I'm a comic book fan so I've been expecting it but I just didn't think they'd do it now. I honestly thought she'd go at the end of say the trilogy so that scene really got me
 
Saw this yesterday and i have to say compared to the first one, it wasnt as good. Found the slow mo action sets a bit too boring for me and felt they werent really needed.

As it is, im not a huge spidey fan and the missus thought pretty much the same...she wasnt that enthused by the movie.

Surprised that they killed off Gwen though, didnt see that coming in all honesty

Its not something that i would go and watch again to be perfectly honest...it wasnt bad but neither was it that good.

Starting to wonder what people actually wanted from this film?

I really enjoyed it, probably my favourite Spidey film so far, Andrew Garfield makes a great Spidey.

The whole Gwen death scene was very well done imo.

exactly what the Spidey comics are. Some proper lol moments I wasn't expecting, way more than the 1st one.

The only negatives I have are the changes to some origin stories, some of the casting choices, and the rushed feel of the "Spiderman is awesome... I HATE spiderman." change of hearts some of the characters have.

I do wonder who the fourth bad guy will be, we obviously have Rhino, Doc Oc and Vulture based on the Oscorp equipment.

Also, off the back of her valedictorian speech, Emma Stone has a really nice voice.. and those boots! Hnnnnnnngh!

I haven't enjoyed a superhero flick as much since The Dark Knight, well done, 9/10 from me!

Agree, the 3D was done very well. Most films I forget are 3D and just don't notice it but the swinging through the city really highlighted it. I liked they got some humour in there but didn't force it so felt natural.

Agree again though doesn't beat her in Gangster Squad.
 
Saw this over the long weekend, not sure how I felt about it some parts I felt where really good others where meh.

Good
Jamie Foxx was a lot better then I expect and did a great job, Action was nice, 3D was really good, it was kind funny. It was better then the first and I was expecting it too be worse. I think they did the emotional parts pretty well.

Bad
Story line was basically a mess, Electro stars up crazy strong, and gets beat pretty easily I guess, it made sense but it was still meh. Green goblin I'm not even sure why they tried, he basically did nothing apart from served as someone to kill Gwen then got knocked out and taken to prison.

Looking forward too the next one, hopefully its a bit better, this one was better then the first.
