Made redundant recently. What the heck just happened at the Job Centre?

Sell the RS4 and MAC 10 to someone in Stratford. It should be easy as they are 'in demand' items in the local area and have the right people around to buy them :p

Job Centre is crap, they are horrible people and don't give them anything to use against you. Just reply with the bare minimum and do the same on your CV. Then personally get online, apply for as many jobs as you can!

Dress like a tramp, poor some strong booze on your shirt and swill a little around you mouth.

I signed on about 5 years ago when the rescission hi for about 6 months in the summer. Had more than enough to tide me, but i paid into the system for 30 years and decided to take a little back. When i gave them my CV the chap looked at me and said, there is nothing we can do for you and your qualifications, come again in two weeks.

Dealing with some of the scum and there attitudes in the place though must really grind you down. OR as the OP suggest`s there useless at work themselves and pretty stupid. Although they have a history degree.

When I had the horrible experience of having to go to the job center in the past, I quickly learnt that they do not provide any assistance what-so-ever. the only help they provided was some money to live on while I searched for my own job.

If you can't get a job, help other people get jobs.

That is the bottom line really. However they should concentrate more on the ones who seem to be able to remain unemployed for years, simply because they don't want to work.

Instead they hassle people who are a bit down on their luck but are more than capable of finding a job themselves.

Really needs a complete overhaul.

The people who work there just treat you like scum that doesn't want to work. I understand that probably a high percentage (just guessing, I have no figures) of the people that go there probably don't want a job - but by looking at someone you can normally judge someone well enough to see if they fit into that category. If you sit in the waiting room, most people are wearing tracksuits and look like druggies.

Jobcentre encouraged me to send my CV to my current job. Without the push I probably would have been too lazy and missed the opportunity, so it works for some people.

It definitely worked for me. I found the experience so horrible that I most likely worked much harder to find a job than if the job center was a joy to visit.

Well technically that is benefit fraud. Any over 12 hours is viewed as full time education.

I'm not too worried about that now as it was back in 2004 :D

I could have claimed JSA and then sat on my backside all day but instead I decided to do a course in something that would get me a better job. I had been working full time 39 hour weeks for 3 years just prior to this after leaving school so I had paid my fair share into the system.

Take it off your CV. Present new CV, say sorry for the mis understanding. Do as they say, make them feel empowering. Got the T's and cross the i's as they say...

Send old CV with it on to job adverts, show that youve applied to x amount of jobs per week, get job on your own

This

Next time you go in, cant you change your CV, so that you delete the part about working for your MCP study.

Just put down your last job and then leave it at that.

Why complicate things?
