Dont know how many of you have seen the update to the camera app for your nexus device? Just installed it on my Nexus 4 and now crashes my phone when trying to take pictures. Looks like I will be rolling it back or using another app instead!

Tried a restart? Maybe wipe the cache/data for the camera app, see if that does anything.

My N5 updated itself this evening, all seems fine so far.

It updated and works fine on my Nexus 10 as well. Well, what really bugs me is that it takes pictures as 4:3 with black bars on the side instead of filling up the whole screen. Needs a touch of immersive mode!

Its crashed my phone 3 times, will try clearing the cache as mentioned. Seems like the app has taken a few steps backwards though? I guess I was hoping for something like they did with the Nexus 5 that improved the image quality, the Nexus 4 is pretty disappointing in the camera department :(

IIt is working fine on my n4. It seems to present the whole shot in the live view; previously I think it presented a crop of the shot which made framing shots hard.

Good change imho

Do the critics above not realise that the viewfinder is now the actual picture you take !!!

The big black lines are there to help you visualise the actual photo taken.

Works fine on my G2, but I don't like it, you don't need a shutter button that takes up 1/3 of the screen.

The update changed the way the preview works. Previously it showed you a fullscreen 16:9 preview, which didn't show the full image that would be taken. Now it shoes a 4:3 preview, which is the full and exact picture that will be taken. It's the same way the iphone does it now.

It looks a bit odd, but it makes more sense overall.
